Something not right?

Description

It is an open campground, controlled by the city police. The nightly fee is $10, including access to water, electricity and toilets. The payment is made directly to the police who patrol regularly. Practical when we drove Route 66! Very quiet

also be careful for your self and animals as there is some broken glass at a few of the sites

Report Check-In

Great place for the night and felt very safe. There was a short skoolie and A class RV here with me when I got in at 5pm. I would definitely recommend to get in before it gets dark as it can be a little confusing. There was a portapotty here still open but you will need to bring your own toilet paper. Electricity and water are both still on this time of year, I would run the water a little bit as it came out brown at first. Not sure who collects money as no one ever came around the campground. Only one car through all night then in the morning at 8 am a few cars came through so fairly quiet. There is also tent camping available on other side/ east side of the river.

Super stop, great for a cheap night of full hookups to do laundry. Prices are now $10 for tent camping, $15 for water and electric, and $20 for water, electric, and sewer. Still a great deal and very quiet.

Good for a night. $15 and police came to collect payment. Water, power, pit toilets. Toilet disgusting and no toilet paper. Overall nice spot right by river and very quiet when we were there.
Disc golf does run close to tent sites

Stayed here a couple of nights, the river rose about 6 feet overnight. Lots of touristy things to see and do. Checked out the museum, the tri-state plaque, cars on the route and Galena Museum and Route 66. Enjoyed the stay.

Nice little campground with water and electric. The cost is $10/night paid to the local police. They come by to collect the fees. There is a time limit of 72 hours so we paid and stayed the full 3 days. Moderate noise level due to the highway nearby and people playing frisbee golf. Will definitely be back if we pass through in the future!
