Description

One of the most beautiful places to stay for overlanding camping in Gambita. Tincavita is a great place, nice, secure and peaceful. You can have your car near your camp setup. You will be attended by Segundo. He is very nice and kind. Sure you will love this place. It’s also very close to La Cascada Manto de La Virgen (5mins in car).

See comments and photos about access with vehicles with long rear overhang.

What a unique and whimsical place to come across in such a remote location!

First, in regards to the bridge, there is a steep conrete ramp down to the flat bridge. Added some pictures of our truck. No problem with a normal 4x4, but something with a long overhang will have trouble.

No cell service of any kind in this area, so best to call ahead. cell: 3134337921. email [email protected]. We arrived without notice, rang the bell at the gate, honked horn, hollered. Got no answer (it's a big property.) Went down the road to enjoy the waterfalls, people there called the owner of this place, who lives in a few hours away. Caretaker is now Alfonso, young guy with his young family. Welcoming enough but they very much keep to themselves.

About the place itself: Great looking secluded tent camping by the creek. If you are sleeping in the rig, parking is a semi-flat lawn in the midst of all the buildings. All the buildings meaning several cabanas in various states of repair, larger multiroom hotel type buildings, several different banos (mostly functional, though hot water only lasted 30 seconds). All in varied styles of building from a builder who was inspired by.....something😂

Oh, almost forgot to mention. There is a 3 story replica of a UFO with at least 4 rooms you could stay in and a sitting area on top where you can look out the spaceship windows into the forest...👽

Also, a cornucopia of farm animals running through all this....

Just look at the pictures.

We paid 25K COP pp/pn, stayed 2 nights, hiked the 11km return hike up to the Laguna. Had the place to ourselves, it really was a nice place to chill out for a little bit and keep ourselves occupied by speculating on the history of the place and the people who built it.

Definitely worth it for the story.

One thing to note. The road that goes down to the bridge is very steep, and in turn, if you have any overhang off your rig it would likely hit the hill when you level out. We are in a truck camper with a 2' overhang and had to pass.  We did not attempt it since it would have been a steep climb back up in reverse.
