Description

This is the place where the bus to the ALMA Observatory leaves every Saturday and Sunday at 9am. Normally, you need to make a reservation (https://welcu.com/alma/visit-2016?locale=en) but on every tour, there are people who don't show up. Because the tour and waiting list were fully booked, we showed up without reservation. We, and at least ten others without reservation, were lucky and could go on the tour. The tour itself was very interesting, Spanish or English (Canadian guide) spoken, took about four hours in total incl. bus ride. Free. http://almaobservatory.org/

Still here. Were there at 7h30 and were the first. It’s still kind of low season but 10 out of 12 of us (without any kind of reservation) did it (on Saturday). Great visit! Let the van parked here for the visit, had no problem.

the meeting point is next To the bench on the place.
you can stay the night at this place and open the door of your van at 7:30. you will be the first on the second waiting list! (confirmés list- official waiting list - non officiel waiting list
if you want to be on the main list you need To book on Internet maybe 5month earlier. it is way easier to be part of the trip on sunday as on saturday the tour is very crowded.

Meetingpoint is still here at Saterday and Sunday. The tour begins at 9am. If you try to get on the bus without a reservation, be there really early. There is a guide with a list to sign in. At 8.45 they start to count the list with the reservations. Then the official waiting list (in witch you can sign in online, maybe a week bevore?) If then are still free places, they count the inofficial list. On sunday is the better chance to get it.
We tried it at Saturday first. Were there at 9.40am and on the 17/18th place, but couldn’t go (just one made it). Then on Sunday at 7.50am, were already the 7/8th and did it (9 People could go). So it’s a bit of luck. (Start to do a list even if there is no guide arround, they do accept it and otherwise it could be too late.)
The tour itself is interesting and takes 4 hours inkl. busride. Good luck!
