I think the comment on 15/04/23 has got mixed up with somewhere else. This is a level hard surface carpark, opposite Walmart that is now permanently closed since March 2023, there is 24 hour security on site. The performing Arts centre is temporarily closed. The carpark also borders the Highland Community Swimming pool, 3$ for an adult swim (check hours) toilets and hot showers. We stayed 3 nights with no problem. There is a big homeless population in Albuquerque, however we only saw 3 people during the night who walked through without disturbing us.

mainly geared towards tent camping, pit toilets, tables, fire pit, trash and grills are available. pretty quiet area, traffic slows down on the mountain between 9pm-7am. camped in the parking lot in my truck, one other camper there doing the same in his truck. Still pretty cold during the nights, temp dropped down below 20 degrees almost the entire night, so pack warm.
