Nice lodge on the lake. We didn't camp as it was raining but that's an option. But the rondavels with the ensuite bathroom are good value at Zmw 450 incl breakfast. Camping was $10 pp.... Geoffrey, the owner is really friendly and a good source of info about the local area. Good place for an overnight after visiting the Kalambo falls. We had a great meal too. Grilled fish and chips were amazing.

Confirm that definitely not suitable for big rigs even if we see a picture with once. Low trees and electrical line in the place itself et narrow road inside

Lovely welcome from Geoffrey (the owner) of Lake China Lodge & Charlie.
Along the Lake Chila Lake, grassed sites, rustic with good facilities. Typically local feel.

We made the mistake of checking in over the weekend. The nearby special forces place had a celebration with live music and it was very loud. perhaps its better on weekdays. Location nice, at the shore (grassy), with bar, restaurant and gym on site, all separately managed.
Charly seems to adjust prices by mood, we were charged 150pp and the kid 100. We were told the chalets are 600, but in fact they charge 450, for laundry he said its 10 per piece, where it was 100 in total, so you need to be cautious with him.

Not really big rig friendly with low hanging cables and a tiny spot to park, but very welcoming. (We are 5.5t and 3.6m high) Good food with grilled fish.

Lovely place to relax with friendly and welcoming staff. Grounds and bar by the lake. We didn't have the noise described by others. Room including full breakfast K300, enormous chicken and chips K90. Well worth a stop over.

It is a crazy place with a lot of pets chicken, ducks and a lot of turkey. Very friendly and helpful stuff. We payed 200 kz for the night. The border is closed 😔

Nice place with good little restaurant. Chicken plate includes fries and salad for 60ZKW. Initially quoted 100ZKW pp for camping but was able to negotiate to 150ZKW for two people to camp in rooftop tent. Shower is very hot in gym. Reception has WIFI but it was not working at the time of our visit.

Report Check-In

Camping as described. We felt soon part of 'the family'. The owner also owns the lodge at the Kalambo Falls. Toilet next to the reception is definitely the cleanest. Shower is in the gym, not a great shower, luke warm water and water drains through the gym. Washing can be done (price to be negotiated, we paid 50 kwacha for a big bag). Nice place overall!

Still good. Little (sort of quiet) party on the other side of the lake. No problems to sleep. Campsite is on the middle of the camp, funny, keeper made a nice fire for us

nice rooms
bar and restaurant with fair prices
Free WIFI at the reception

Nice little camp. It’s not really a campsite, but the are we stayed was grassy and shaded. Clean ablutions! They even have a gym you can use and it’s pretty well equipped. No WiFi. Bar and restaurant reasonable and cheap we had dinner for $5 dollars and it was tasty and a big portion. We stayed on a Saturday night and this place wasn’t busy with locals or noisy, but on the other side of the lake there was a gathering and this was extremely loud until about 1am. We paid 100zk pppn for camping. Seems expensive, but also seems like a similar pricing structure across Zambia. Very friendly and helpful staff!

very nice people. close to the lake where German Troups sunk their weapons in 1918.
nice Chalets (300K) Camping on green grass close to the lake (100K/ppn). Restaurant and Bar.

Similar experience to Norbert - got there to find it VERY busy with locals (on a Wednesday afternoon), were shown a possible campsite next to some rubbish and a rusty container and left to go to Mpulungu instead.
