Description

Update in dry season: road is passable, but really quite technical.

This road from Brazzaville to Point Noire is not passable currently. After 25km of unpaved road you reach huge area of construction works and mud. Locals were showing me some detour for motorbike, but after few kilometers it was hard to find the way since no paths on the maps. Needed to come back to Brazaville

Do not take this road from Brazzaville to Point. Noir this is the wrong road ignore Google and take the lovely new main road that runs north of Braziville four lanes super smooth, we took this road from the cascades and it was horrible, very technical in places deep mud pools deep truck ruts very narrow bridges etc cost us 2.5 hours average speed about 14km/hr go the other way unless you want a 4WD challenge for fun

Report Check-In

Just drove this route and currently (dry season) it's possible. From Mindouli to the roadworka it's quite technical though, so bring a 4wd and enough clearance will help a lot. In the area of these roadworks the tracks are not very clear. There are indeed multiple tracks, but we managed to find our way. After the roadworks towards Kinkala, the road is much much better.
