Hello
So sorry but this place is closed.
They put wire in the entrance.
We have sleep in the other place to one hundred meters.
No longer allowed to camp on the grassy area behind the posts. Guard said we could still park the night, but on the side of the road. (We went to laguna mojanda instead - very peaceful and beautiful directly on the lake!)

Report Check-Inexcellent , quiet at night , water possible right after entrance (restroom) wc same place.
Report Check-InNo dogs allowed into park. You can leave dog in car, walk the some 300m to mirador.
Report Check-InFrikin' awesome. Beautiful views, quiet, free and safe. Lots of firewood, nice clean, flush toilets. Pretty hard to beat.
Report Check-InNice quiet and flat grassy spot next to the park gate with beautiful views. A few cars pass in the day but it’s quiet at night. Highly recommended for a night or two while exploring the trail around the lake. In total it’s 13km, including 500 meters elevation gain and loss. Takes 4-5 hours. Leave early to avoid the afternoon rain storms.
Report Check-InAs described, free quiet and nice view. The trail begins right before the banos. when you get to first Mirador you go left to short walk to museum with views of lake the whole way or go right to do lake perimeter hike: 14.5 km - 4-5 hours.
Report Check-InNice and calm spot. When park closes there is no more traffic on the road. There are some fire pits and you can collect wood just below the spot.
Report Check-InExcellent wild camping spot. 50-60 meters from park main entrance. You can use the Restrooms in the park. Security guard at the parks gate 24h. Gravel/grassy spot behind the barb wire fence with white cement stakes. Flat with nice views. Very sweet spot. Free.
Report Check-InPerfect spot just in front of the park entrance. Guard told us we can stay overnight just behind those white poles. No problems at all. FREE. Quiet. Entrance in park is also free and between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm. Views? Not sure, all foggy ;(
Report Check-InBy far the best option that me found. nice open space with a view of the valley. it is completely exposed to the road but that doesnt matter here. the only hidden spot we found was following the dirt road to the left of the park entrance and then take a right on the main road untill it get a bit curvy, about 5 minutes. it is an old road. only prob with that one is that you need either a big truck or max trax to get over the gutter.
Report Check-InExcelent place. WC and Security 24hs. Your camp area Balconi to the read and you can see Otavalo city ligth in the nigth.
