this is an unused open area that I think at one time had a building but has nothing there is no signage saying anything is restricted it's off the side of Route 1 in Oak Hill Florida and I think it would be good for a night there's a long end to talk into I think it's a potentially good place
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It's a paid parking spot now. $10 for a day. Probably no problem with sleeping overnight. Didn't check closer about that.
Report Check-InArrived at 11PM and left at 7:30 AM. I was alone. Really quiet. No issues.
Report Check-InI stayed here lastnight alongside an RV and truck camper and in the morning as I was packing up, 2 police vehicles came in and kicked us out. They ran my plate, asked for my ID, and tried to ask me a bunch of questions about where im coming from and going to and just generally being annoying cops. Yoy could likely still get away with staying here for at least one night if you dont mind talking to cops and getting a warning.
Report Check-InWhat a wonderful spot. Mostly quiet, and plenty of space even though we were the only ones here. There is some decent privacy from the main road, and no signs prohibiting overnight parking. I would definitely recommend.
Report Check-InStay the second night here . Police came at night and checked licenses plates but do not bother us. Just drive away say nothing.May because it was Saturday night. Stay with one other Camper.
Report Check-InJust like others before, it's a empty lot with 360° parking lot around a dirt area that had a building or was gonna be building. On Google maps it's labeled as "James Byrne" on the North bound side of Hwy 1.
Over grown and decently hidden.
Pretty quiet for the most part. Can hear some Hwy noise and dogs barking in the distance.
Pack in pack out, let's keep this clean and usable.
NO AMENITIES!

Free camping in this area is hard to complain about as sparse as it is. No one bothered us on a Friday night. We were the only vehicle in the parking lot all night. Got woken up several times throughout the night from traffic driving by on the highway nearby but still had a good nights sleep. Be ware of the ants, harmless little guys. Flat spot with good breeze, minimal bugs.
Report Check-InAbandoned site, just a loop of pavement, train tracks aren’t far and there’s a late night train. Out of sight of road, within earshot of homes and families. Very nice place.
