Description

This is one of two parking lots next to the Port of Entry to/ from Mexico. Cost is $10 for 24 hour parking per vehicle, actually until 10pm on the following day. $6 for day use. Entry is self-service at the booth which requires exact change or a credit card. Los Algodones is a major destination for Americans to get inexpensive dental care in Mexico. They use these lots to park and walk across the border which closes at 11 pm California time. The lot has no shade and no facilities but is paved and fenced. There is some traffic noise but the road is a dead end when the border is closed. A useful legal overnight stop even if not crossing to Mexico. Decent Verizon signal.
Note that Algodones uses Arizona Time.

Latest Check-Ins

We paid for overnight parking ($10) for our Promaster van, just in case we decided to stay the night…which we did. Once the border closed it was quiet…we slept well.
We spent the day roaming around Los Algodones. We found a cute spot for a good Margarita and guacamole, but otherwise not much there unless you need dental or eye appointments.
We checked google for border wait times….on the Monday we walked in there was no wait either way.

Report Check-In

Was charged $6 USD for a truck-camper for day parking. $10 for overnight. See posted picture for other costs for motorhomes under 27 feet and over 27 feet.

Report Check-In

There are bathroom facilities (with running water) if you follow the 'information' signs at the US Customs. You'll go the opposite direction from where people are coming when they enter the US.
Security guards at the lot are friendly. They also offered water and bathroom.
