Little stone refuge next to the river, very small and more like an emergency shelter, but well made, no wind in there... a few options to camp around the refuge, you can drink the water from the river (the hike from here up to cerro penitentes takes 3 - 4 hours, steep, rocky path) .
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Perfect place to rest before and after the cerro Penitentes.Today there were 20 tents here and still free spots.
nb: we saw a fox in the evening so we put everything in the tent except the clothes that were drying. The day after the clothes were spread everywhere around our spot with holes inside. A piece of a socks was even cut off! So beware of zorro!
