For the price of one Toña, you can sit and stare out at the lake, and have a peaceful place to camp for the night.
I'd honestly buy more than one Toña for the privilege, but they were only serving drinks when I arrived.

Nice spot before border. We got a drink and spent the night there. The whole town was totally cool with it. Kids very nice and interested. Excellent for night before border X’ing!

nos quedamos una noche después de entrar a nicaragua, nos dejaron gratis pero durante la mitad de la noche pusieron música súper fuerte y luego bajaron el volumen como a las 10 pero la música seguía muy fuerte…
lugar con muchísimo viento

We rolled up after dark and a number of locals there had been drinking already. There wasn't electricity either and it was very windy. The owner was very nice and said we could just stay for free because they didn't have food to serve us. But these two local chaps were insistent on chatting with my partner and buying her/us beers to the point that it was uncomfortable. All these conditions led us to leaving and sending it across the Nicaragua and CR borders which was he biggest blessing in disguise as there was absolutely no one else at these notoriously cumbersome borders. It took us maybe 2.5 to get through both borders (and we chatted with many officers on either side). We pulled up to the first established campsite (the Finca that's 20 minutes after the CR border) at 11pm and are so glad we did because it's unbelievably beautiful and safe and well equipped.

Nice place to stop before or after the border croossing. Very breezy, no mosquitoes and cheap food to support the restaurant! 70 Córdobas for tipical desayuno, 200 for dinner on nice pork ribs. Beer is cheap too! Nice views too. Recommended

Very nice spot, large and level with the lake view. Perfect before or after the border crossing. Beer is cheap and people are friendly. Safe and quiet night.

Great place to stay before crossing to Costa Rica. Very quiet, Slept really well. Just 10min from the border crossing. Beautiful view of the 2 volcanos!! They only accept cash, so if you want to buy something from their bar, make sure to have some cash.

Best place to stay before crossing the border to Costa Rica. Free but still had food at the bar and played pool. There is toilet and a cold shower as well.
