Latest Check-Ins

This is NOT BLM land! It is private property which has been invaded by homeless camps. I had a long conversation with a local landowner who explained that the website postings are in error. They frequently put up No Trespassing signs and the homeless take them down. The locals do not have a good way to get rid of them. My husband and I stayed one time, thinking it felt unsavory there. The second time we were stuck for a place to stay so we went but were told by the local resident that none of the places on ioverlander along the dirt roads are blm land. He said that if you literally go overland, with no roads, several miles east beneath the craggy low mountains it is blm over there. But people go out and shoot and make it inhospitable there as well. Do not invade these peoples neighborhoods, they are having a bad time of it.

wide open. rough road but go slow and you will be fine. great views. no wind protection. felt safe

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights. Very big open area so it feels very private, beautiful view of the mountain and very quiet at night. We felt safe. BUT we got 3 BIG nails in our tires when we left in the morning so be careful! We drive a dodge grand caravan fyi.

Report Check-In

Joshua tree BLM land. Lots of space, wide open, dry lakebed. Roads are rough getting here. Take palm highway, to sunfair road (both paved), continue to Reagan road on gps (actual road sign says cypress ave) this is the first dirt road you should encounter. Do not turn on the street before called sunflower road, that one is really rutted (I came in on that road in class A, will not be taking it out, use Regan road!)
Also, if there is even a light sprinkle forecasted. DO NOT COME HERE. This is for DRY sunny weather only. The dirt is rock hard, but if you pour a glass of water on the ground it will turn into quick sand mud immediatly. Very dangerous ground for rvs.

Report Check-In

Standard blm camping. Plenty of space, fair amount of people. Not too loud or dirty when we stayed. Cute bar Mas o Menos down the street.

Report Check-In

Lots of space so not right next to other campers. However, sooo loud in a Saturday evening.. music, dirt bikes, etc.
