Latest Check-Ins

Marcelo is great and speaks some English. I've replaced the front cover grill and the suspension (back and front).

I was communicating over WhatsApp and Marcelo was informing me about the prices of the repairs.

He is a cool and calm person. Everything was fixed withing one day.

Marcelo is super nice and did a great job also! Fixed/replaced my suspension trunnions, rear breaks and repaired a tire as well. Alltogher for 1000Bs. Took 2 days to get the parts and do the job. 100% recommended.

After our experience we asked 3 Bolivian friends with cars about the price we were charged (including the amazing Javier from Javier’s apartments) and all three told us that price was extremely expensive and that we’d been taken advantage of. Marcelo may be a good mechanic for complex problems (judging from the other reviews), but for routine maintenance there are way cheaper and less sloppy (had to spend an hour cleaning oil sprayed all over the front bumper and engine bay because they parked our car near where they were dumping old engine oil) mechanics out there. Would not recommend.

Marcelo is really nice and it seems like a professional outfit, however we’re feeling a bit like we might have been ripped. We paid 900bol for:

Oil change & filter (fully synthetic and we understand the oil is expensive here).
Change air and inline fuel filters (we provided the parts)
General check.

This seems very expensive for what it was (we could’ve changed things like the air filter and inline fuel) and when we got there the front of our car and engine bay was covered with sprays of oil - we asked what happened thinking it was something from the oil change and he told us it was just because it was parked near where they were dumping the oil 😐 so even though the car has just had a lavado we had to rewash the front... not cool for the price. Maybe get prices in writing first to be sure.

The guys did a great job, we got new brakes in the front and back for our 1971 vanagon. They organized all the parts and worked on the car for an entire day. I payed 600 BOB incl all spare parts.
I came back next day because of a strange noise and they worked again an entire day fixing the issue, without charging me anything.
Really nice guys, proper work. Just be aware that there is a height restriction when entering the workshop, around 2,40m high.

Juan-Carlos really made the job. Oil (4L) and oil filter changed. Air filter replaced and the old one sprayed for next time, lights checked, escape tube welded,... all for 670BOB.

He also offered to park the van in his garage while we would be away for a 3 days trek.

Super thorough and professional, changed all break pads (we brought our own) for $21 UsD! 150 bob in about an hour. Awesome!
