Super Cute 😍 Stayed here for 2 nights, this place is CLEAN!!! please please please keep it that way. we did not stay on the beach but on the grassy area near the road. You can actually park on the beach tho. just make sure you walk it before you drive it.

Major construction going on here. Looks like they are raising the lake level or something. Big earthwork operation at the dam blocking access to recreation location below dam. Camps at north end of dam and the one on the south shore are still accessible. But, that could change as they are very close to operations. The site further north is on the wrong side of a road closed and detour barricade. I'm not so good at doing as told. So I drive around barricade and to the tables and fire rings. Not sure they will allow when construction gets going cause it is very close to a new cement mixing plant they have just erected.

Otherwise, it's a nice area and maybe in a few years when work is complete, they might improve the camp sites.

I was there (at north end of dam location) on a Sunday night and had the place to myself.

Big Sandy east is not affected by construction.

One of my favorite spots!! Very, very quiet at night! Great stargazing and wildlife all over, including wild horses!

Nice free area next to reservoir. New pit toilet nearby, trash can,fire ring and picnic table. Nice and level. quiet.

Beautiful spot, just very exposed. Was extremely windy and no real spot to block the wind except for a few spots down below the dam.

Clean pit toilets. It's free. Very few trees, so wonderful stargazing.

Sites are very exposed so wind was a problem when we stayed. Otherwise nice location, clean toilets and views out over the reservoir and to the mountains.

Really beautiful spot!! Just the view is worth the no service. It will be a nice change from the Walmart parking lot! The sound of the waves will put anyone to sleep.

Great place. Big camp site area. Lots of bugs but we went swimming. Beautiful views and lots of stars at night. Would come back again.

Lots of room for rigs. If you don't see the perfect spot, keep driving to another beach further down. Picnic tables, some fire pits, and the water is nice and calm in the mornings. There is no entry gate so you can arrive at any time. Free. Many people had dogs.
