Description

Going south, here it is (currently) not allowed for foreigners to pass, due to the security situation in the province. You have to go further east, via Kanaqin where there is another checkpoint which is very thorough.

Latest Check-Ins

Update: If you were entering from Turkey, then do NOT take this route from Slemani south at all.
There seems to be a checkpoint around Kirkuk where you get your car entered in the Irak-proper computer system.
If going from Slemani to Baghdad directly this will not be done. Problems at the border when leaving the country are likely.
So go back from Slemani to Erbil and then via Kirkuk, this is my advice.
