Description

Philip is a lovely German (and maybe the world's slowest overlander!) who has set up a beautiful permaculture farm. He is super keen to have people to stay, learn, help or just enjoy his wealth of knowledge of the local area. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for a while he's also really keen to have people live for longer periods and help out on the farm (I think you would both learn a lot and have a really good time - he also does adventures in his 4x4 around the area all the time and can show you his favourite finds in the beautiful plateaux area). He is working on setting up a local nature reserve protecting trees for people to enjoy. It's worth coming up and sharing some stories together. The entrance to his place is marked by a huge termite mount on your right if you pass the road to Golden Eye (which is not really open any more but does have a fantastic outdoor shower overlooking the best view in Togo which is well worth a visit!). Enjoy!!

A great experience there, taking care of the animals, learn to manage a self sufficient farm with plenty of plants. we spent 1 week there, parked the car on a very calm place. ate lunch and diner at gloria's kitchen. learnt to kill and prépare the pig to eat. We thanked them by paying the groceries at the market for everybody and gave 20 000 cfa when we left.
Wonderfull hikes to do in the mountains there.

Fantastic tranquil place to stay for a couple of nights. The mountain road up is amazing with great views.
We parked on an area with a great view to wake up to. There is a shower and flush toilet available.
We ate dinner with Philipp and Gloria on two nights. Delicious locally grown ingredients.
Highly recommend a stay here to recharge batteries.

Wow! After driving one of the most beautiful roads I’ve found so far in Africa I come across Philipp. On his own sustainable farm on the top of a jungle mountain with few mosquitoes. I stayed with them for 4 nights camping in a new specially built area surrounded by nature and peace and felt safe doing so. During the stay they brought warm buckets of water to my tent for me to wash and I ate foods from their garden and farm daily including a whole pig spit roast on the Friday which was once in a lifetime to experience. Philipp has a good balance and is a very appreciative guy, he’s also thoughtful and kind as is Gloria his wife. Thank you for having me to stay guys!

One of the best sustainable projects I have visited so far on my journey through West Africa. I stayed there 5 days, Philipp is working every day very hard and has a team of motivated people around him. He has developed a lot during a short time in the middle of the mountains of Togo. The view, the climate is nice. It is completely worth to pass by and explore food what the modern society has maybe forgotten.
