ADMIN NOTE: please stop posting wifi passwords. This is NOT allowed on iOverlander.

Atention.... big rigs do not go in anymore !!! Secured parking for B40 per 24hrs. Good place to park your vehicle safely. Walking distance from red teleferico. Or taxi to purple one (25 Bs). We were told that the free parking on airport (only one time B4 for entering airport) is not safe. Friendly security, we stayed 5 nights. Toilets and wifi in airport, 1 minute from the parking.

Latest Check-Ins

Staid there 4 nights. safe place. not too many places for big rigs but we managed (our motorhome is 8m long and 3.2m high). friendly security staff at the entrance. access to airport toilets. noise wise, not too many planes.

Report Check-In

Atention!!! difficult for big rigs. The have filled all the parking with roofs!!!. there is eventually ONLY one parking for big rigs considering a time to park. It is a pity

Report Check-In

Stayed for 2 Nights and left the car while exploring La Paz. 40 BOL.
Clean toilets in the airport, restaurants as well.

Report Check-In

Completely crazy traffic to get in here in our pickup+trailer but enough space for cover park (around 3meters height)

That's water at the entrance but no connection and also there's a few spot with electricity which I didn't use because it was too far

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Left truck here for 5 nights while we went to Amazon. Really safe. We were to high to fit under the roof area but could just park in turning round area. Showers inside airport so nice but expensive paid 100bs for 2 people.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 7 nights. 40 Bs per person.

Safe and nice. Security super friendly. Could also leave clothes with them so Alexis Limpieza came later and picked them up.

Toilets and some showers inside the airport.

Cheapest way to town is colectivo for 5Bs, if it's heavy traffic better take taxi (25Bs) to Morado teleferico and go down.

Report Check-In

There are two parking lots at the airport.
1. semi-open, you pay 6 bolivianos only on departure, no matter how long you stayed (1 hour or several days).
2. closed, 40 bolivianos per day.
When we arrived, we went to ask the police if it was safe to leave it in the semi-open parking lot, and they told us yes, that it was policed 24 hours a day and there were several cameras, that we didn't need to worry. We had booked an apartment for 2 days in La Paz, so we left the car here and came back after 2 days, no problem. We slept two more nights in the parking lot - quite noisy, but safe, with clean toilets.
Avoid going out by car through the city of El Alto and La Paz, it is very chaotic! We went down to the city by minibus (212, you take it inside the parking lot and pay 5 bolivianos per person), and came back by teleferico.
________

We could get in with our big truck (3,5m high). But you need a special tool to get in: the broom of the guardes to push up the electric cable. We payed 150BOL for nearly 4 days (now 40BOL / 24hrs). Flights depart from 6am to 22pm.

Report Check-In

Spent several nights here. Safe, clean bathrooms, no problem for sprinter, 2 big frenchie caravans parked in here too. There are regular military guards walking around with dogs, we parked at the very end for privacy, no car within 50m of us.
As per the gondola, I find the purple much closer and easier to walk to, also direct to center. While the red offers an interesting walk through the market it is further but a must during the day for a gondola day tour. Nights just take the purple back, plenty safe walk.
As per WiFi, what is wrong with you people. Get a Bolivian SIM card for 30 days for less than 15usd. How much money are you wasting on crappy coffee for annoying Edge-speed WiFi? It works just about everywhere in the country and faster than any WiFi I have connected to. No Argentinian 4G, the Bolivian is indeed fast.

I also got my car washed here. Great!

Report Check-In

Handy place to visit La Paz. The parking is usually full in the morning, some space available in the afternoon and a lot in the evening. We easily fit under the roof with a 2.5m high high vehicule but for big rigs, only a few spaces available.

Report Check-In

We have spent 4 days here with our camper of 3,20m high and 7m length !
No high restriction to enter the parking, but... only a few places inside without a roof. So, if one of them is available you can park. If not, impossible !
for us it was almost full during the weekend but if you arrive during the week you should find a place without roof available.
for sure a very very good option to visit La Paz as teleferico is at 3km or minibus in front of the airport to reach the city center.... drive in this city with a big rig is a very bad idea !

Report Check-In

Not possible de enter with our motor home because 3,20 meters. And only few parking places available for big rigs. We slept in front of the gate because I was late.
Horrible night lit of noise and air pollution. I don t understand travellers who stay here Many days.

Report Check-In

We tried to park here in the paid parking today, and were told that we would not fit (Ford E350). Looking into this parking lot from the gate, it looks like the section beyond the covered parking (where larger rigs could fit) was sectioned off for construction or expansion. So, be advised that this may no longer be a parking option for larger/taller vehicles.

Report Check-In

vehicle means privat car. not possible for longer and higher motorhomes!!

We were allowed to stay with our 6.50 meter motorhome in a through aisle on one side. All parking lot have a roof! !!
Thanks very much and a big tip.

yes it is the best place in La Paz! !!
Only one minute to wifi, toilets and restaurants.
only a short traffic jam bevor you enter the airport.

Report Check-In

Left the van here for 4 nights while we flew to Rurrenabaque- felt totally safe and secure. Would DEFINITELY recommend staying here or leaving your vehicle here because driving into La Paz was the most stressful driving of our whole trip.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Safe parking lot. Still 30B for 24hrs. You pay 4B when you drive out of the airport. Airport bathrooms are clean, have tp and open 24hrs, no showers. Good selection of cafes and restaurants with WiFi inside. WiFi does not reach secured parking lot. Pretty quiet for being in the airport.

Report Check-In

Secured parking for 30BOB/24h. We can sleep in the car.
Wifi at restaurants and coffee shops at the airport (best wifi was chinese restaurant for us). Clean toilets but no showers.
2 ways to get to city center: minibus 212 in front of the airport (exact location is on maps.me) 4,50BOB / cable car at 25min walk for 3BOB.

Report Check-In

Getting into the city around 5pm from the north was insane. We chose here after being in traffic for almost 2 hours. They have decent Chinese food open 24hrs with great WiFi, a burger place, a subway, and 3 coffee places. 30bol for 24hours

Report Check-In

Slept there one night. Secure parking, we left the van all day while visiting la Paz. Good wifi in Juan Valdez inside the airport, few spot for eat and warm inside in the evening (open 24h).
clean toilets, no shower.
Very quiet at night.
We payed 30bs for 24h for the car.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Big rigs beware.
Tried coming here with a big rig but they recently installed a metal sign that restricts height to “4.5m” (but is actually less since ours has 3.75m clearance and we tried airing down tires). Additionally, there are two speed bumps just below this sign, making clearance even lower.
We ended up staying in the free parking right in front for a day.

Report Check-In

Good place with roof high enough for Westfalia pop up tent. We even found a socket which is located under the fuse box about half way down the parking lot on the right hand side when entering (just where the metal sidewall turns into a fence).

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Prices as mentioned. Safe and quiet for an airport. Taxi to red teleferico 40b but to return 25b. Wifi passwords in airport change often. Big rigs park in back of lot for most room.

Report Check-In

Super place to leave the truck and visit La Paz .
Security 24 hours

Report Check-In

Great place, good location, secure (left the car here during our Pampas tour) and met many overlanders here.

Report Check-In

Better than expected - uncovered space at the back is decew for RVs. Not really a place to hang out but a decent base to explore the city from. High so does get cold at night.

Can get microbus right outside the terminal into centre - takes about an hour and costs 4B. If coming back that way its really hard to get an Aeropuerto one - just take any Ceja and walk 10 mins. Official taxi price is 50B unless you share it. Nicest option is to walk 20/30 mins to red line teleferico - great views across the city as you go down steep valley side. Takes 15 mins and only costs 3B.

Dogs can ride teleferico in carriers. We blagged our small dog onto most minibuses, except the aeropuerto ones until we bought a big bag for her.

Juan Valdez WiFi is now [deleted by admin] & Xpress is [deleted by admin]

Report Check-In

We left our car here for 10 days while we went to the jungle. Safe and very friendly guards.

Report Check-In

Still 30bob per 24 hours. Wondeful place to stay overnight and to leave the car for a few days.

Report Check-In

Good enough for a few nights as it is moore like a Provincial than International Airport. Free Wifi in Airport or from one of the cafes
and quiet all night! Helpfull Tourist Info as well.

30 bol/ 24 hrs parking + the 4 bol entrance fee to drive onto airport property. Covered secure parking and uncovered spaces at back of lot. OK Wifi from several places inside airport but passwords change often. Clean bathrooms inside. Free parking lot (not gated) directly in front of airport terminal as well.

Report Check-In

Wifi password for Juan Valdéz is [deleted by admin]. Though I think this changes regularly. Correct at Sept 9/17

Report Check-In

Slept two nights here. Public transport to LA Paz is 30 mins walk. A lot of shops and markets in El alto.

Report Check-In

Drive past the outdoor parking and then you'll see a gated car park on the right. 30 Bol for 24 hours, nice guard said it was fine to sleep in the truck at night and to tell whoever was working later when I got back.

Alexander coffee password inside the airport is now [deleted by admin]. Decent coffee. Juan Valdez password is [deleted by admin]. Better coffee

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights, same price 30bs .no problem. Walked to the yellow cable car and did the whole trip until the green cable car to overlook the city. It was the nicest thing about La Paz as it its not that pretty. We took a bus from Plaza San Francisco straight to the airport for 4bs. The internet in the airport is somewhat slow, but the one at Anthony's cafe I believe is fast pass: [deleted by admin]
