We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore Fogo Island. We're traveling in a 25 foot/8 metre motorhome and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed weeknights in late July and did not need reservations. This is a good campground in a beautiful spot along the coast. There are about 20 sites across 2 rows right on the water. The sites are small and all have a beautiful view (CD$35). There are 7 additional sites behind the Lions Club building. These are also small and site 27 has a really nice view (CD$30). All have electric. There are several unserviced sites that can be available in a grass field (CD$20?). All are gravel/grass and are level or need minimal leveling. There's potable water behind the building, there's no dump station. The showers are clean with ample hot water and water pressure. There's a good ATT cell signal while roaming on Bell and good Verizon signal while roaming on Telus. The hike to Brimstone Head is short and steep and leaves from the campground. The Fogo Head hike leave from just outside the campground. Both have beautiful views. The walk downtown is less than 1/2 mile/1 km.

the only established campground on fogo island, right on the beach in a little protected cove. showers, flush toilets, picnic tables, fire rings. paid $30 for a site with water and power. campground is operated by the brimstone head lion's club.

great location on the beach in Fogo. Note: The campsites have no sewer. only water and electric. the water is somewhat rusty in color, even after running through inline charcoal filter. Sites are close together, but with good views.

The only formal camping site in the island, and probably the only one on one of the four corners of the earth ;). Good showers ($2 honor system) and toilets. Can walk to shops and restaurants and easy access to hikes. Water is drinkable. Good cell (Telus) signal at the beach sites. $30/night with 30A and water.

Lions Club Campground with water and electricity for $30/night. Nice friendly place, lots are right next to one another. Pet friendly. Very windy. A few trails right from the campground. Internet is good. Free Wi-Fi.

Fantastic municipal campground - $20 for an un serviced site (you park whenever you want). Showers and toilets are very clean. Locals drive thru the campground at sunset. A few trails start from the campground.

Stayed 4 days and what a great place. Lots of walking trails to do on Fogo

Nice municipal park. Great view of the water, beautiful sunsets, boats fishing for squid seen nightly, rocky beach. Hike with excellent view right off camping area. Able to buy large ‘pan’ of wood 10$. Communal firepits next to beach. Clean shower and toilets. About 4 rvs & a couple of tents when we were there. Main manager was on vacation labour day weekend, local couple pitched in to address our needs. Everyone very friendly. Locals come by to watch sunset, easy to strike up conversation if you desire. Can be very windy.
Water is potable, just discoloured.
Apparently they have a folk festival when 170 campers fill the place.

A good alternative to Fogo Head Trail Parking Area and a chance to return to local community since the locations operate by the Lion Club
