Chalten Parking Area | Established Campground

Okay for one night, but I think the Visitor Center’s parking is much nicer. This area was very busy and on the next road there was a huge truck running the motor for many hours until 1 AM. Toilets at the bus terminal are very clean.

C’est la première fois en 6 mois de voyage en Argentine que nous trouvons un lieu gratuit aussi bien équipé ! Eau, électricité, wifi, vidange eaux grises et eaux noires.
Proche du centre mais tranquille.
Bref, la perfection pour profiter de El Chalten.
Il y a forcément un revers à cette belle médaille : il faut être chanceux pour avoir une place parce que, forcément, le lieu est pris d’assaut ;-)

Camping Agreste Adriana,
Dormimos nesse lugar maravilhoso ao lado do rio. Adriana e sua família são muito amáveis. Um lugar super estratégico para quem quer fazer o passo Futaleufú.

We stayed just 1 night here and four in the parking next to the visitor centre. It is nice to have a place to fill water and empty the grey waters. But is busier than the other one. Also it has rubbish bins and inside the village.

A gravel parking where a lot of vans stay, so it’s not that easy to find a spot in the evening. There’s a toilet at the bus station and it was open at around 7:30 already. Good place for a night or two, especially that it’s free. Nice artesanía place right oposite the station.

We stayed here for one night in a campervan. No complaints. The bus station didn't open until 8am per Google, but even then it didn't open on time. We gave up around 08:07 and went to a local shop for sandwiches and the bathroom.

We stayed 4 nights here. Perfect place to visit el Chalten and go hiking. We also left the van there to for a 2 day hike. There is always other travelers there so it is safe. Toilets of the bus station clean and open wifi reaching the van although super slow.
Potable water, garbage and a place to empty your black waters. All of it for free!

Bon endroit pour passer la nuit meme si pas abrite du vent et il y en a beaucoup ici. Eau electricite vidange eaux noire et grise tout ca gratuit !

Very nice place to stay. Information center and bus station are nearby and you can use the bathroom there. Near the parking lot you can go to the cheapest bakery in town “Pan Demia”.

We came back for a third night cause it’s the easiest place to be at if you’re a motorhome in El Chaltén, can’t beat a free parking spot with bathrooms :)

We stayed for two nights.
Water, trash bins and wifi from the bus station. The toilets at the bus station are closed from 10pm to 7:30am

excelente lugar para parar, siempre hay otros viajeros así que podés dejar el vehículo he ir a hacer caminatas. hay canillas, enchufes y lugar para descargar el WC y las aguas grises.

excellent place to stop, there are always other travelers so you can leave the vehicle and go hiking. there are faucets, plugs and a place to discharge the toilet and gray water

all absolutely true and free. definitely not a secret if it ever was. get here early and be prepared to wait for a spot. even this late in the season there are 20 plus vehicles parked here and spilling out into the street but water and electricity for like 8 of them along the fence. we heard one of the hostels nearby offer showers for 200p but we didn't use them.

Here is a FREE camp spot with electricity, potable water, a dump station, free garbages, and wifi next to the bus station. There are no bathrooms, but the bus station is open from 07:00-22:00 with bathrooms inside. No showers. Full 4g LTE Claro signal (speed is more like 2g all through El Chaltén).
