Description

Spending the day out here when a park ranger stopped and said that we were more than welcome to camp out here. The trail goes around the lake and he said there is hiking and camping. There are some spots with fire rings. Usually pretty busy at night with people fishing. He said if anyone bothers you over night just say that you’re fishing.

This place has a giant “No Camping” sign. Not sure how others have missed it.

Report Check-In

There’s is a very large, obvious, permanent sign stating no camping, fires or off terrain vehicles picture is posted. Not sure if this is brand new but we drove out of our way to get here only to find out it’s a no go. It’s late at night and we’re choosing to risk it and will leave early.

I argue sleeping in a van isn’t camping. It’s overnight parking.

Update: left around 5 am with no problems. Where were a lot of people leaving around 11 pm, who we assume were fishermen who didn’t disturb us. But we’re not sure if we just got lucky with the locals this time around.

Great spot there was nobody around we had the place to ourselves. Stayed one night the sunset was amazing. It was super quiet. No bugs (it was windy). Our dogs loved the amount of space to play around off leash. Nobody bothered us. We travel in a ram promaster.

Nice place by the water. A bit noisy because we're just under the overpass, but I guess it will be better during the night. quite easy to find.

spent 2 days here. wicked quiet until the park guys started mowing at 730 am. 3 other campers were here too. 2 of us in vans. no issues at all.

Better than expected! Stayed here one night after watching the nice sunset and walking on the levee. Quiet and no one bothered us.

Nice night here. 4 other rv’s we parked on the lake side of the dike with one other rv. Two on top of dike at small turn circle.

Spent one night right by the boat ramp. Road noise obviously but during the night there was not much traffic. A few pickups drove by during the night that looked like county vehicles going to the dam. You’re right by the trailhead. Verizon and T-Mobile had good service.

uh....tried to get out of my rig to start my generator and almost got carried off by mosquitoes! literally had to go up the road to the boat ramp...I have to mention here, how iOverlander needs to check these spots out BEFORE putting them on the site.
