good spot further down the dirt road from the clearing by the main road. there's a car/RV-port-type structure and a fire pit so I think it's part of the state-run free campground but not sure. one spot after the bend in the road that could be sketchy if it's been raining but I got through it fine in moderate mud. suppose you can park under the car port if it's raining too. saw one car in the night but no issues.
this is across the lake from a coal fire power plant, take note. not sure if that's what set off my smoke alarm or it just malfunctioned - but it's new. no smoke and my second alarm did not go off.
there were several fishermen in the lake in the evening and next morning. birds chirping and a nice place to walk. beautiful.

Very nice. Couldn’t quite make it all the way to the shelter, but camped at the Y in the road (big muddy pothole area at the hairpin turn in the road was too much for our rig.)
