Description

We found this place by chance. It's a gravel road that leads here and then, depending on your car, you can stop or go further over the dune and behind the high rocks. We have a 2wd van, so we stopped at the end of the gravel road, next to a pile of sand. This place is quiet and clean ( we cleaned it, please keep it that way). Nobody came around when we were here. Rather poor STC reception.

Latest Check-Ins

You need to go in the sandy portion if you want a quiet area. The first part is not very hard and there is a flat solid area after 200 m. If you are brave (or not lazy to deflate :)) you can go further up to the hill.
Garbage as often in Saudi Arabia.
Guys came at 23:00 to check who we are but did not disturb us (only see their lights and they went away).

Only found out this is an Ioverlander location after camping here. We found it via Google maps satellite view. But indeed a nice place. Gets sandy where the corregated gravel road ends and from there 4x4 only. We camped in one of the cracks/caverns in the rock with our rooftop tent.

Some locals came by to drive in the dunes but super quiet at night. Decent internet connection with STC.

Beautiful spot! Spent two nights camping with tent here. Using it as base for visiting Hegra and Al Ula. Quite and amazing surroundings. The few locals that passed by were welcoming.
