Beautiful campground in the woods. Lots of space in each site. A lot of recently down trees all across the campground but all cut and moved off of the road so it could reopen. Looks and smells like all the tree cutting was done very recently. 8 bucks a night payable at the iron ranger. Don’t stay at the campground in Shelter Cove. Stay here instead.
Report Check-InDidn’t stay here. Drove around and it was deserted. Got a bad feeling from the burned up houses, trash and drug problems of the nearby communities. Felt like a place bad things could happen & we drove an hour to humboldt redwoods and camped.
Report Check-InNice little campground. Fire pit, table at each site. Wooded and dreamy. You can hear the creek nearby. Lots of hiking opportunities. A rad trail network for mountain biking just 10 minutes up the road. Pit latrines not in bad or good shape. $8 ($4 with federal golden senior pass or access pass … don’t think discount includes the general fed parks pass).
Report Check-InNice shaded campground with good trails right from the campground. 1 bar of ATT at the campground entrance but two bars halfway up the mountain trail. Pit toilets were functional but not that clean. The road is very narrow and winding in this area but at least it was paved.
Report Check-InAwesome little camp ground just off the road. A little buggy mosquitos mostly but honestly it’s worth it. There’s a small creek behind the camp and so much greenery. Vaulted toilets but no signs of water so be prepared. Space #4 is absolutely awesome. Also spots are spaced out pretty decent.
Report Check-InQuiet and paved all the way in. Access to trails and half off with an interagency/senior pass. Stayed for two lovely nights in the tall trees. A little buggy and no water access, so bring your own or be ready to treat water from the nearby creek.
Report Check-In13 really nice spot for 8$ (4$ with national park pass)
Fire pit, Pit toilet but no water when we were there.
