Abandoned tourist center. Safe and nice space under the trees. View of the Chaparrastique Volcano. Very close to San Miguel, good to escape from the heat of the city. There is no water or electricity, clean lake water
Weekday is quieter, only friendly locals
Update 24.12.2023: there is electricity on site but better ask before!

Report Check-InThe access road has many low branches (we are 3.80m high), especially after rain. Right next door is a noisy quarry, but quiet at night. According to the owners, the grounds are to be renovated, but apart from one pool, nothing is finished yet and there is still a lot to do... Good for an overnight stay.
Report Check-InGood night love n strange abandoned waterpark. Funky place to camp. great for the border crossing. $2 per person
Report Check-InNice calm place, chilly at night, good place before or after the border. They charged us 1$ per person per night
Report Check-InWe spent 2 days here, super save with a closed gate at night! The water is clean and you can swim in the lake. The first day was very quite and only a few locals came along to swim. The second day was Christmas and a lot of locals came here to grill with music and beers. They were very curios and all came along to speak with us and invited us to spend the day with them! Very nice vibes and friendly people.
Report Check-Inawesome place. you pay 1 dollar per person and they let us sleep there. its private now. they close the gate at 5pm . very Nice people.
Report Check-InMy wife and I looked at each other on arrival and agreed: this place feels sketchy! Our dog disagrees and loved it. We had a quiet peaceful Friday night no problems and would come back but not on a weekend as we would expect lots of noisy locals.
Report Check-InThe water here is amazing. We felt generally safe but were scared pretty bad at night. There was a lot of locals, and couples late at night. Everything was fine till the couple next to us decided to shoot a gun at around midnight! They kept talking and laughing after but scared the crap out of us as we weren't expecting it. Spent the following morning and afternoon there was no problem moved closer to the border to sleep.
Report Check-InLovely place directly at the lagoon. Water is nice for a swim, in the afternoon friendly locals passed by to enjoy. Good claro signal. Beautiful sunsets. Not much more to add, nice place overall!
