Best place for visiting Granada! Free public parking with many flat spots directly beside the church. Quiet at night, felt absolutely safe. Very close to the Malecon as well as to the cathedral and the center. Next door is Hotel La Calzada with the Hogs Breath Saloon, a very nice bar with great music, very good food and fair rates. It‘s run by Sean ,a very nice Canadian guy, and his Nicaraguan wife and their whole staff is very friendly too. He likes talking to Overlanders and knows almost everything about living in Nicaragua. Have a coffee or some food or drinks on their shady terrace and you can use their wifi and clean toilets during your stay. They also offer nice rooms with fair rates and a little pool. Many other restaurants, bars and shops close bye along Calle La Calzada. Highly recommended!

good descriptions already entered. spent the night in our GXV beside the church. Spent the afternoon at Sean's Hogs Breath Saloon. He is more than accommodating offered use of hotel pool and bathroom/showers. we had drinks and very good steaks for dinner. felt safe under the street lights and very quite after 9pm. traffic starts early but it's downtown. people super friendly. location is 5 minute walk to central Plaza.
Report Check-InI parked on the quieter side street just round the corner behind the church - and was woken at 4am by somebody I assume trying the doors - he gave the van a good shake a couple of times anyway. He was lurking around for a while after, I think checking out the vehicle behind mine - not 100% he had bad intentions and wasn't just drunk, but either way I'll find somewhere different to park tonight..
