Large NPS Campground with nice private sites. $20 USD, potable water, bathrooms, dumpsters, and dump station on-site.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Got there at 1pm and only a handful of camping spots left. Only around 3 in total for large RVs. It’s federal so they’re super anti weed and there weren’t any super cute animals there except the odd deer.
Report Check-Inwas able to snag a reservation the night before via rec.gov. we were in Loop D, which was very quiet. potable water is available throughout the loops, but we were told some spigots may not be functioning due to a lack of a plumber (sad). no showers. our spot was pretty small (D36), but every site size is so different. we were able to string up one hammock, it fit our 19 foot van and we were right across from the bathrooms, which were very clean. nice to stroll around the camp loops with our dog. quick drive over to Longmire. no at&t or verizon. $20 or $10 w/Interagency Pass.
Report Check-InNice quiet NPS campground. Mear Longmire area-2 miles from general store.
Report Check-InGood location in the park! There is a river across the street that we checked out while we stayed there. We had a pull through spot which was pretty convenient - recommend reserving spot before or getting there early to claim a spot. The lot was full by 6pm(on a Thursday).
Report Check-InExcellent NPS campground. We got the last FCFS site on Wednesday afternoon. 14 day limit. We had a big pull through site in Loop A. Excellent Ranger programs throughout the week and weekend.
Report Check-InArrived at 6 pm on a Tuesday and there was around 4-5 spot left. Spots are small and not really leveled but it was nice enough for one night.
Report Check-InWe stayed in a small pull thru at C23. There are few large sites available. The sites are wooded and well spread out. Not suitable for big rigs. The limit is 27 ft.
Report Check-InLock up all your belongings and don't leave anything unattended. Items were stolen from our site while we were hiking for the day. Per rangers response to our report and signs in the bathroom theft appears to be problematic.
Report Check-InWe got to the park at 7:00pm on a Saturday night and we were taking a chance finding a stop. All spots are first come first serve. I wouldn’t recommend doing this in the middle of summer. Get there early! We managed to find a spot. They have an easy self service machine you pay for your spot. $20. Then you post your recipe on the numbered post on your site. No showers. Flush toilet. I will mention that a lot of stops are closed due to hazards trees. We had to drive around to find a spot. They were pretty full and people were driving around looking for spots after we got there.
Report Check-InLarge campground in amongst the trees. Smallish private sites. Not for larger than 27 feet. Flush toilets, table, water, fire ring. $20.
Report Check-InNational Park Service Campground in Mt. Rainier National Park in the Nisqually River Valley. Forested area, sites are quite small, but private and quiet. Campground was full when we came back from Skyline Trail - so good to check in earlier in the day.
