Extremely quiet for how many ppl are tucked away here. I usually like to avoid populated spots, but we didn’t want to keep driving late into the night, and so pulled in at 10pm. I could see this place being busy on the weekends and at certain of the year, but a sunday in mid-April was perfect. I would stay here again as a pass-through. Google maps took us on a pretty rough (short) stretch of road to get here off of I-25 heading north, but we handled it fine with our Volkswagen Atlas (all-wheel) and 5x10 trailer.

Stayed here for 2 nights in my truck and 17ft travel trailer. Beautiful dispersed camping area.

The eastern part of this area is dispersed camping, the western part of the plateau allows shooting too. The GPS coordinates is the camping side. Be very wary of mud. It will cake on your tires. Know how to recover yourself, air-down/air-up your tires, etc. If it's dry, you're all good.

Mostly quiet area. Depends on the other campers. Some think it's Burning Man and play loud music off in the distance.

There are bathrooms near the visitor center.

Amazing camping spot only 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe. Quiet and safe with lots of spots to find your own area. 2 bars on Verizon.

Nice. Feels safe. A bit dusty with ATVs. Do bring leveling gear. 3 bars on Verizon. Price is right.

Report Check-In

Plenty of spots, lots of open areas for bigger rigs. There was quite a few people so if you want seclusion there are spots further down the main road but I would recommend having 4x4. Some gunshots nearby but nothing crazy. Pit Toilets were clean and cell service with ATT was great.
