Something not right?

Description

Large flat circular desert soil spot on the S side of Mad Cow Rd, about 200 yds off of 789. Although much of the BLM land for the last hour from the S was impassible red mud, this spot (thankfully) is solid and dry.
It’s not fancy, but the bushes surrounding it give privacy, and the land is very open. The low horizon on the west results in a beautiful sunset.
There are probably more (better?) sites further up Mad Cow Rd; but we didn’t check them out.
We have 3 bars on AT&T

Latest Check-Ins

A pull off along Mad Cow Rd. it is a circular parking area wide enough to turn our 18 ft trailer rig. highway 789 is quiet at night. we chased a few cows away when we arrived. uneventful night. strong winds this morning. 53° and 80° at noon. very strong Verizon. sage and grassland around. flat. it was a pleasant stay but nothing to write home about. we arrived after dark, missed the entrance and had to drive about 2 miles before we could turn around at a Y. the entrance is within 300 ft of the highway on the right.

Report Check-In

Small plot of land, no amenities but very close to the highway. There are some bushes providing minimal coverage, but you’re still very visible from the highway / nearby areas. Stopped here for the night and slept in car. We didn’t set up our tent because it rained, and the mud was rough. Got here late at night and left early. Decent spot in a pinch.

We should have called this Wild Cow Rd BLM (our mistake). There are tankers on the highway - interesting vs annoying to us. There have been about a dozen pickups heading up Wild Cow Rd this morning. It looks like there is extensive gas field activity up the road(s). Road is well maintained.
A dozen yellow headed blackbirds visited us this morning.
