Stayed a couple of nights here while visiting Torrey Pines SNR. Arrived late and left early. I could easily find a spot both nights. No restrictions other than you are not supposed to park an oversized vehicle on city streets between 2AM-6AM.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I’ve stayed here many times it’s getting a little harder every time not because you get bothered. It’s just the street full and then you’re out looking for another place to stay so far I have never had anybody bother me in La Jolla for Boondocking, which is surprising and remember you can stay down on the road near the cove till 2 AM then you gotta move
Report Check-InPretty busy but was able to find a spot after 10 PM. I’ve never been bothered here probably illegal but if your black out all your curtains and don’t cause any trouble should be OK. You can stay down at the beach till 10pm or you could stay down in La Jolla on the coast Till 2 AM then you gotta move
Report Check-InMostly dark, but with city busses moving by you fairly closely and fairly regularly.
Report Check-InWe faced downhill overnight and slept pretty good.
Road noise is a constant and if you are good with city buses traveling by you throughout the night, at what seems like a close and high speed, then you will be good to go.
There is a porta potty at the top of the hill.
We had a great time and rested well.
Report Check-In4th or 5th time I’ve slept here no problem. Get up early and drive back down to beach. It’s a place to sleep
Report Check-InStreet parking no problems. There was some drive by noise but that’s expected.
Slept sound and close to the surf breaks :-) wish I had my tennis shoes
Second night stay in here got in about 11 left at 6 AM. So far good place to boondock in La Jolla.
Report Check-InGood place to park on the street probably illegal. I didn’t have any problems no street signs good for quiet van. No lights got here at midnight. Leaving before six. Very quiet.
Report Check-Indefinitely a back street but driven like a highway. it's near a college campus and campus some apartments. there was pretty consistent driving all night for a Sunday. we felt safe but if you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend. pretty close to whole foods and Starbucks for a morning refresher. leave no trace
