Description

Take the road (there is a new tarmac road almost all the way to the canyon but it is not yet visible on Google maps sattelite view) at these coordinates (44.3036213, 53.5435606) and follow it over the train tracks. Entrance to the canyon at these coordinates (44.3281908, 53.5114891). As it was quite windy on the steppe we drove down the canyon for a couple hundred meters to find a less windy spot. Train is a bit noisy though but nothing that keeps you out of your sleep.

Latest Check-Ins

Nice place but be careful, three kids on bicycles came from the village and tried to steal our shoes. I was fast enough but we left the place after this experience and went some kilometers to the south. Still a nice view over the valley and still connection with beeline. Take care of the turtles, they're everywhere in the grass! The train runs down in the valley so if you want a quiet night...

Even with the description, the place was very difficult to find! We suspect that coming from Schetpe, you have to turn right one road before the coordinates given here in order to got to the tunnel underneath the train tracks. Turning on Google topography view helped, but still we couldn’t find the way down into the canyon. We ended up camping on top, which was also incredibly beautiful, but the trains were loud and beeping at camels on the tracks until about 02:00.
