We found it very difficult to find a place to stay in Brighton and be able to walk into town. We tried the campsite very near this point, but they charged $60(!) per night for a spot with an awning. We saw many campervan/busses parked here and talked to one of the people that 'lives' here. It's perfectly fine to overnight here. It's free from 4 pm until 9 am. In between you pay, but we don't know how much. It's a 45 minute walk to the pier or city centre from here and actually quite nice as you can walk along the beach. There is a Lidl supermarket nearby, and after the people playing sport left it was super quiet. You're in the middle of a big park to have a picknick, there's a playground for kids, etc. Really recommend it!
