Nakawa Community Campsite | Established Campground

Impressive to see what they build up in such a short period of time. A great vision followed by great staff!! Our first stay in Zambia and we were feeling super welcome with our three kids. Two lovely basic nights were the hosts made sure we were as comfortable as possible. A great and personal insight in how a local community initiative is making an impact.

Wow what a place. Cynthia is such a kind host, serves nice food and the work that she is doing is vital for the most vulnerable children in the region. Really nice to see and contribute, if only a little bit.

Great campsite with lots of trees. Cynthia is very enthusiastic about the school, camp and farm. She’s having a lot of good plans for the future. Pit-toilet is really nice and clean. Price is 100zk pppn. For 30 zk you can get a charcoal fire to warm you at a cold evening.

Excellent visit. The farm and school are well organized and ambitious. It was great to visit such an inspiring place. We are a family of four (kids aged 9 and 11). The camping spot was comfortable and shady. Lots of space to play and the children learnt a lot about farming in this area of the world. Don’t miss this place! Thank-you Cynthia and Silumba.

I stayed at the Nakawa Community Campsite and had an absolutely perfect experience. From the moment I arrived, Cynthia, the host, her warm welcome and hospitality made me feel right at home. During my stay, I opted to stay in the hut, and I was very happy with my choice. The hut was comfortable and cozy!
Cynthia also prepared a delicious dinner that was a real treat. What makes Nakawa Community Campsite even more special is its connection to the local school. Visitors have the opportunity to visit the school and learn about the community's educational initiatives. The best part is that the funds generated from the campsite go directly to supporting the school. It's a wonderful way to contribute!
