La Kntera | Established Campground

Very sweet and kind owners. It is a beautiful place to spend a quiet night with an amazing view. Especially on the weekend, when it’s noisy in the town center. Showers were nice and hot, also has a cool common area with a fireplace and we could fill up our water tank. Unfortunately there is no wifi. Still $5 pppn.

We loved this place! 5$USD per person. Grass camping with beautiful views, quiet. Hot showers, kitchen and common area with fire place. Owners are incredibly friendly and proud of the property. There is a natural volcanic run off pool to swim in that you can drive to. Cabanas also available. ( not sure on price.) Just look for the mine and go through the gate, you’ll come to a house where the owner will greet you and tell you stay left to go to the camping area.

We stayed here for 3 days and absolutely loved it! The family who owns the place is so kind -- they gave us a tour of their quarry (which they are in the process of converting to an eco-friendly travel site), gave us a ride to do some mountain biking, and gave us fresh leaves to make tea. The property is beautiful and quiet, and it is a great spot if you want a safe place a little out of Banos center. They have bathrooms, hot showers, and potable water you can use to fill your tanks. We paid $5 pp/pn and would definitely recommend staying here! Good for any size rig or for tent camping.

Ay the entrace there is a little White sign, written : "área minera el arenal" go for that road around 100 meters and you gonna find a little house to register your entrance.

Couldn't find this place. The coordinates take you to a mine and google maps shows La Knetra but it's not there

For us it was the best place to stay around Baños! Its a wonderfull made Campground, runned by Kevin and his sister Alex. You have flat grounds for your camper, hot shower in a nice bathroom, a great chill area with kitchen and a wooden oven (we made Pizza)
Theres a fireplace built like an amphitheater, really nice!
Really quiet, its naturally protected from the noise of the street.
Also a paradise for climbers, a little bit further down from the campground are more then twenti climbing routes.

The place was first a bit hard to find:
You have to enter the gate where the signe of the mine is, after around 20 meters you see the road that takes you to the campground.

Aquí encontrarás un lugar tranquilo y seguro con un amplio parqueadero. En la zona de camping disfrutarás de una cocina bien equipada, cómodos sillones y un espacio acogedor para fogatas, además de duchas de agua caliente proviente de calentadores solares. A solo 100 metros, hay dos hermosas cabañas que puedes alquilar, con energía solar, calentadores solares y biodigestores. Puedes explora los manantiales que abastecen de agua pura al lugar, así como también caminar hasta la orilla del río. ¡Los amantes de la aventura pueden probar más de 20 rutas de escalada en una impresionante pared de roca natural de 500 metros de largo y 50 metros de alto!. Mientras que los amantes a las caminatas podrán recorrer la pequeña selva privada que hay al pie de ruta de la zona de escalada.

Excelente espacio tanto para camping como para vans. Cuenta con increíbles vistas y más de 10 rutas de escalada.

Un lugar increíble para acampar, tanto en carpa como en motorhome. Las instalaciones están en excelente estado. Hay baños con agua caliente, cocina, fogón y lugar de estar.
La familia que lo atiende es amorosa. Tanto julio, como Margarita, como Kevin. Los tres son geniales.
Dentro del mismo predio hay unas cabañas hermosas y paredes para hacer escalada. Se puede bajar al río, hay algunas pileta naturales muy lindas pero frías.
Para llegar también lo pueden buscar en Google como "La Kntera".
Sale 5 usd por persona el acampe.

An incredible place to camp, both in a tent and in a motorhome. The facilities are in excellent condition. There are bathrooms with hot water, kitchen, stove, and living room.
The family that cares for you is loving. Both Julio and Margarita and Kevin. All three are great.
Within the same property there are some beautiful cabins and walls for climbing. You can go down to the river, there are some very nice but cold natural pools.
To get there you can also search for it on Google as "La Kntera".
Camping costs 5 usd per person.
