Something not right?

Description

Campsite shaded by the trees. No direct sea view but the beach is a few steps away. Price is 100 Rand pppn. You need a 4x4 to reach. They also have a dive center (about 30-35 usd per dive plus equipment.)

The Zavora lodge nearby is a better deal. - update: the Zavora lodge is permanently closed. The price per night is now 150 Rand pppn. I did not see a dive center but ask Antonio the manager/

place is run down. we left without camping. toilets not working. 500meticals pp/pn.

we do expect that in high season this is a nice place to stay.

Zavora lodge is open and we stayed there.

Nice shady place. Antonio is a really nice guy. They have had virtually zero guests due to covid and are slowly getting things back togther. Paid 1000met for the night. He'll fire up the Donkey for hot water, but you can also shower after the suns been up for a couple hours and it's hot.
The beach that's 5mins away is amazing. Went snorkeling in the bay at low tide and it's full of fish. Not sure why the review below said it's near the lagoon, it's not. 4x4 needed.

Nice Campsite, low season only one family and us at the campsite, shaded place with water and electricity and small hut and braii place, directly on the lake, nice bar/restaurant, good food

Report Check-In

Everything that is written below is correct, the campsite is very nice. We took a 2 hour ocean safari with the dive club which turned into: accompanied a 3 hour dive tour. With 11 divers on a small boat. We saw 2 whales and a turtle. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager, he did not understand and closed down.

Report Check-In

Ok campsite. Very sandy sites but well shaded. The ablutions were clean when we arrived (Saturday) but not again cleaned again until the day we left (Monday). The water was lovely and warm. Not all the light bulbs were working on the bathrooms. The beach is a short walk away over the dunes. We had an awesome time snorkeling in the natural rock pool at low tide.

the last bit uphill a 4x4 might be needed, as described shaded campsites, due to corona the campsite is empty and restaurant and bar closed. Great whale watching with binoculars from the high dunes, 100m walk from the campsite. Only few camping places easy accessible with a car or car and campingtrailer (our case) but as no one was there perfect. We also did a nice whale watching boat trip with Manuel. Rodney and Antonio in charge of the campsite easy to communicate with.

Report Check-In

As described. 4x4 needed to access the campsite, which is well shaded. Ablutions were clean and taken care of, hot water from a donkey, so tell Antonio when you intend to shower so that he can heat the donkey in advance. To the Ocean it is just a short walk over the dune.
100Rand pppn.
Manuel has opened a small dive centre there and takes you to the fantastic spots Zavota bay has to offer. We saw a Manta and a spinner shark and the other group had dolphins! There is also a potato bass on one site which comes so close that you can touch it. He is called Patrick:-) Prices for dives and equipment where fair, but you can only pay cash, so bring enough with you. No ATMs down there at Zavora.

This was a great campsite. It has a lot of shade, flat terrain and big rig friendly (Iveco daily 4x4). The bathrooms are very clean and has hot water. Antonio manages the site and he is fantastic ! Make sure to take cash. The sea is walking distance and it is a great beach

Report Check-In

Very relaxed place with good facilities and good restaurant. The 900m driveway is very sandy so it's a bit tricky to get there with a heavy motorcycle. If you don't manage, talk to Linda from the Zavora lodge. She will point out a parking spot for your bikes at her camp sites and you can walk to Nhanombe. We stayed at the sea view apartment and it's well equipped for self-catering.
