Here is the ringsco company warehouse and garage where you can pack your motorcycle if you want to take a brake for your trip and also if you want to go about the sticker visa process.

1) Riding from lagos to oron they was some few check points only 1 stop and the police men where friendly asking, I had a little problem understanding their english but I have to answer to my best of understanding. In a few seconds I set off and arrived in the yard where I met John the boat transit manager and went about to get my customs documents done before left to Calabar for the sticker visa via a ferry with Jennifer.

2) After 3 hours we came back and to an hotel. I paid €300 which covers the motorcycle and my me, accomodations, Lunch and brakefast and some bottles of bear, Paper work, loading and unloading of the bike by both in Nigeria and in Cameroon.

4) The next morning Jennifer lead me to the Port where for the migration and then a Customs Lady have to look through my documents to confirm my departure approval.

5) The bike was loaded on the boat at the Jamestown port where we set off with other 3 locals passengers. I was informed by John that I have no bride to pay to the coastal guards except the locals who are traveling to Cameroon without a travel documents. After 3 check points we set to the sea and after 3 hours and some few minutes we arrive Idenua port. John already gave me 10,000CFA in cash to give to the boys. Mr samuel the boat transit manager in Cameroon really helped to supervise the onloading by the boys so as to avoid damanges since the environment was rocky.

After which the police did searching on my bags, before going to the customs for my cdp. I think the process in Cameroon on arrival takes more time than in Nigeria before departure the whole process took about 2 hours.

jennifer, john and mr samuel where very helpful for a safe trip. whatsApp Ringsco +2349135306373

We want to appel to every of our Customers on I Overlanders that we had finally taken our boat departure to Jamestown Port. We now see to it to provide more effective way to transport our customers without any issues by: replacing new experience boat captain, departure port(Jamestown) that will take just 2 hours to reach via the fastboat. Our company had been providing safe transportation to various travelers from the past 4 years as an alternative to the land boadres with all measures putting in place. We also wrote an undertaken to the Nigeria Migration and the Customs to allow us transport Motorcycle travelers officially since they recently declined and demand every travelers to ship their motorcycle via Ship and fly to Cameroon but we followed up with a lot of effort to make them resume the official endorsement to our customers recently. Moreover we also appeal to the Cameron consulate to please issues sticker visa to tourist after severally they insist that Everyone should fly to Cameroon but due to a lot of Appealing to the Government they finally accepted to issues Sticker visa and demand that our company are responsible for anyany travelers using the boat. Most travelers doesn't understand we made this an authorized route and it was considered as Smuggling through our effort as we pay to to demand for military coastal gun boat check points on the sea in order everyone traveling through our route will be safe and for the past 4 years we had been operating successfully despite the pirates about the golf of Guniea sea coast internationally. Some travelers lack understanding how the system works in Africa but some who understand that we had never ripped anyone of their payment without making sure they arrive Cameroon safely will understand we had been on this record for the past 4 years and we had giving the Nigeria and Cameroon authority more evidence. We Company goes through a lot of effort to make sure of our customers safety always. Our fast boat is the only option if you need to leave Nigeria in alegally Emergency exit just in 2 - 3 hours. At times most travelers comes without having issues with immigrantion and Customs documents into Nigeria and cameroon but due to our company relationship with the Nigeria and the Cameroon all suitation authorities issues will be overlooked and let go. From the hotel, Meals, pepper work, handling, boat transporting we have put all measures in place in order to maintain a satisfying services. CdP, already had sticker-visa Cameroon

We contacted John from Ringsco ahead of time through WhatsApp. We agreed with him to take the speedboat the day after our arrival, overall price for both was $650 and also included stamping of CdP in Oron, stamping of passport at immigration of port James Town (where our boat left), dinner, night and breakfast at decent hotel (secure parking, AC) in Oron. Ringsco also changed money for us (Naira to CFA for Cameroon). Throughout the process John and colleague were very responsive, friendly and transparent.

Downside: Speedboats are not made for transporting bikes. The bikes are leaning against the side wall of a heavily bouncing ship. They are unprofessionally secured with tires and ropes and will move around. Especially fairing, handlebars are always in danger. We had to stop the boat multiple times to prevent damage. In the end we were lucky to leave Idenau with a minor issue with a front brake and some scratches on fairings.
Be prepared for Nigerian and Cameroon (bribey, but fold quickly) coast guard checking passport and other docs while on the water. At port Idenau, make sure to stay in control of offboarding the bikes to prevent damage from happening.

As long as these issues are not resolved, this is a risky option for your bikes. If you have the time, you might want to take the ferry from Calabar to Tiko. Seems like John prefers you to take the speedboat, but will also help with the ferry.

Ok. So used this service but not impressed. Inc in 300USD was a meal from a slop bucket in a roadside cafe. No breakfast. Both bikes damaged being unloaded at Cameroon end. The hotel was good but that’s about all I can say from our experience. Personally wish we had taken Ferry from Calabar.
