Several campsites close to lake with picknick tables, fire rings, food lockers and clean toilet. For free. Max stay 16 days. We were the only ones at end of September.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Beautiful! Still a valid free campground, 16 day limit. Road noise is loud. Ranger is present and checking grounds on a Mon afternoon. Felt safe! Very clean.
Lots of low hanging branches, my sprinter was hitting a lot of them.
It’s so cozy with the tall lush trees… But not a good place if you need cell service or Starlink.
Small set of 5 shady sites between the highway and the Clark Fork River. There's a table and bear box at each site and a vault toilet near the campsite and down by the boat ramp. Day use area, includes easy river access for floating or paddling plus a few tables. No cell service.
Report Check-InAlmost no sleep tent camping (Note: I don't use ear plugs). Road traffic intruded all hours, even on a Sunday night. The hills adjacent to the other side of the road acted as an amplifier.
Same with the passing trains. Even louder than vehicle traffic. All five campsites would be affected.
Report Check-InAwesome little free CG. Bear lockers, vault toilet, spread out 5 or 6 spaces, pretty level. Metal fire rings with grill grates. Pack in, pack out - no garbage services. Only one other camper there when we were. Seems to be a locals fishing spot. Small fishing pier at the end. Recreation area within the National Forest. You can hear road noise but it’s not bad at all. And a train.
Report Check-InWe just stopped for a quick break and to do some work that required a phone call (Verizon). Cell service was good. Campground & bathrooms were open, but still lots of snow. Nobody else there. Right on the River...very pretty. Not far off of road, so you do hear traffic.
Report Check-InIt’s open all year long but I’d advise Wait till the snow melts , overnight camping area mid March still had 1 ft of ice . Boat ramp / pit toilets and beautiful vistas . You will hear the train pass very often during the day. Cell 3g only
Report Check-InNot really big rig friendly on maybe two spots and tenters were in those other to short
