Description

Park for free overnight by the lake. A pretty spot with picnic tables, bathroom, shower, folks swimming and fishing.

I stayed the night in my vehicle but another couple pitched a tent on the grass by the lake.

This spot is also marked on iOverlander as an established campground - with RV hookups for $15/night. It seems that if you don’t bring your RV/need a hookup, you can easily camp here for free.

Great option of I-40.

Had good LTE cell service.

Such a beautiful and quiet park! Showed up and parked past RV sites in the last loop. What a beautiful place! Dog friendly, plenty of garbage recepticals, picnic tables and grills, bathrooms- ALL FOR FREE?!?! I haven't tried the showers yet, but will take one in the morning. I have saved this place bc I will absolutely stay again.

Also close to shopping, food, and I40/Historic Route 66

Beautiful and Quiet. $15 a night for up to 10 days. Electric and water hookups included. Be sure to pay though cause we just watched them tow a 5th wheel camper for not paying, I assume.

How is this even a thing? So wonderful and peaceful, and apparently free. Our rig is self-contained, so it seems one can just pull up. It was a very stormy night with lots of thunder, lightning and wind, but because it's paved we felt fine being in here. a couple dozen vehicles of all kinds were here when we got here, but it was very, very quiet. Easy access to/from I-40, too.

Wonderful little city lake with a few $15.00 electric spots, but plenty of boondocking spots available. Not much wind protection, but definitely better than driving in horrible winds , which are common in this area.

Pitched a tent after dark, packed up at sunrise and no one bothered me. By the picnic tables past the RV park. Free hot shower was nice too.
