Something not right?

Description

We camped in the nice grassy area between the chalets with palm trees giving a bit of shade. There are no designated pits. Electricity in the chalets and restaurant in the morning and from sunset to 11pm (generator). If the place is not busy they can plug you into one of the chalet. Power should not be used for heavy devices (hair drier, hot plate, etc.). Nice and clean ablution block, hot shower on request (donkey). There is a beautiful swimming pool and bar overlooking the ocean. The beach is down the steep dune and pretty narrow but totally empty. They also have a dive center, chalets and self-catering accommodation. The last few kilometers to access the place had some low tree branches which might be a problem for bid rigs. The track is sandy, but not deep.
The place was pretty empty but the workers looked like they were getting the place ready for the season. There was no official prices but we agreed on 300 metical pppn if staying at least 2 nights.

Latest Check-Ins

This place is definitely not closed!!
It is fully open and under new management.
The restaurant and bar as well as all accommodation are open for business.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately this place is really closed for camping. The friendly owner explained that you need a camping license and unfortunately after a hefty fine they decided not to allow it anymore. Very understandable, we went to Morrongulo campsite instead.

Report Check-In

Still a very nice place for a view days. Everything is clean and up to date. Dewold and hes wife Madeleine are great and very welcoming. The divecenter is closed, there is only Peri-Peri Divers in town. Soon they start running a campside but not finished yet.

Report Check-In

500 Mets pppn, we used chalet ablutions. We stayed one night. Lovely views and friendly staff.

Report Check-In

They let you camp here and let you use a Chalet for the bathroom ,as they have no ablutions. Stunning views from the pool and bar area of the ocean, and a short walk down a dune to the beach, which is not the safest to swim in. Kits charged 600M pppn and if I stay 3 nights it will be 500.
There is another campsite just north about 5 minutes by vehicle, Morrungulo Beach Lodge which has great grass camps spots and by the flat beach and safe to swim.

Report Check-In

500MTpppn. Used chalet ablutions which were nice and clean. Apparently they closed for 2 years during covid so Internet is not set up again yet. Nice beach and pool.

Report Check-In

We highly recommend Bonito Bay..the location, hosts Dewold and Madeleine cannot do enough. Campsite is not open yet but we were given a lovely chalet for shower and toilet etc. Beautiful Infinity pool and an amazing unspoilt beach. We hope you stay there. 400Mt pppn. We stayed 5 nights.
We originally went to Morrogulo but found the owner very aggressive with prices and rules. There was no comparison with the facilities etc at Bonito..

Report Check-In

We arrived in the Cyclone. Winds guzzling rain pouring. The manager Innocent immediately took care of us and offered a small room with shower and bed for camping Price MZN 750. The 2nd night Innocent upgraded us to a 3 bedroom house same money. Had to wait 7 days for cyclone to move past.
The staff the food the atmosphere at this place is brilliant.
Then there is Chopper the Dive shop owner. What a man. Support all the way.

Report Check-In

We negociated the price down to 800 p2P with a truck. Wifi is available. Consider that the last 3 km are quite dificult for bigger vehicles because of the bushes and palmtrees. For our truck we had to cut some branches and sometimes to make a "small detour" through the bushes.

Report Check-In

This is not a campsite, but when not busy you can camp next to a chalet en use the bathroom.
We payed 500Mt pp.
This place is much better the Murrungulo.
Beautiful pool, nice bar/restaurant. View right on the beach/ocean is very nice.
Power still only in morning and from late afternoon until 22.00 h.
Very friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Still the same except the price is now 500 mets (not negotiated). The staff at reception first refused to allow me camping however talking with the "right" person (the manager) solved the problem.
