Description

Parking lot right next to the Dempster-Skokie Train Station. You pay $3 for 24 hours either via the pay machines inside the station or via an app.

Surprisingly quiet considering the nearby train track. We parked here for 4 nights while visiting Chicago, and had no problems whatsoever in terms of safety.

Nearby Target and a Starbucks, as well as a bunch of restaurants within walking distance.

Be aware that this is a commuter parking lot and not a campsite, meaning you probably shouldn't set up chairs, tents, etc. indicating that you are camping.

Most of the parking spots are relatively small, so we had to go all the way to the southern end to fit in with our 25' rig (backed into the spot and had our overhang over the grass and just accurately fit).

Latest Check-Ins

We did the same for three nights. Although it takes a while on the subway to get to the city and it is a bit weird to sleep on a commuter parking lot, we were happy that we could leave our van safe and sound, and did not have to pay huge amounts for parking. Also, quite quiet and probably less road noise than street parking places closer to the centre.
No public toilets, but indeed a Target (open from 7am to 10 pm) and Starbucks nearby.
