Description

Fastest way to go to Puru, Ecuador road is almost perfect, not many people.

Comment: At that aduana they stole my tank bag. They was no one there, mr saavedra (the officer here ) was very unfriendly, very annoying, and slow. I left my bag 5mn because he insisted to show me some pictures about his job (dugs, traffic etc... but no pictures of corruption :-)). So be careful, and a bit suspicious and everything will be fine.

It's kind of slow the whole process with You car, especially to go inside Ecuador, but It Works perfect. I do not recomend to take the road from Sullana to the border during raini seasson, there are a lot of little rivers on the road.

Just a check-in. Easy as stated. Quick too. Smile.

Very easy crossing. Before the bridge you get the exit stamp and surrender the TIP. 10-15 minutes and you're done.

We left Ecuador in 15 minutes, everything very easy and calm.

This is the Ecuadorian side- if there’s a line, ask up the line for them to pass back a “forma” for each person so you can fill it out while waiting. Their system might be new, because both entering (from the north) and exiting (here) the country, there was confusion. When entering, they had asked if I’d been in the country before, yes, and then they couldn’t find my name. I told them it was with a different passport with my maiden name, so for some reason, that’s how she put me in. Now exiting, my name (maiden) in their system didn’t match my current passport. Luckily the guy was able to fix the issue easily. He also didn’t know Australia was different from Austria. The Belarus issue I read below now makes sense. Friendly anyway.

From Ecuador to Peru, super easy exist, didn't check anything

Leaving Ecuador: auduana in a tent in the middle of the road. Give them TIP and head to immigration trailer.

I came from Peru to Ecuador, very easy and smooth. On the peruvian side the "system" crashed for nearly an hour but it was fine afterwards. Few people crossing the border, highly recommended.

We came to the border at 5:30 pm. Very fast exit from Ecuador - exit stamp and return of TIP finished in 13 minutes.
We brought a copy of our TIP and the officer signed the exit it for us.
And 12 min to get the entry stamp for Peru.

Report Check-In

VERY chilled border crossing. They briefly checked my car on the Peruvian side (heading out). Didn't even look inside on the Ecuador side.

The only issue was that my wife is a citizen of Belarus and none of us knew how Belarus is written in Spanish. I had no phone signal so couldn't Google it and it took them about 2 hours.

Other than that, very smooth. No need for SOAT on Ecuador side. A nice alternative to Tumbes.

Cruce fronterizo muy po 9 conocido. Nosotros pasamos de Perú a Ecuador. Muy tranquilo y rápido, muy poco concurrido.

Report Check-In

easy border. When entering ask for the maximum number of days thatvyou cam stay. we only planned for 2 weeks and wrote that on our tourist card. at the aduana they put that in the system and told us that it's a $300 fine per day if you stay over that time limit. so don't be stupid like us and if you plan on 2 weeks, then put 4 weeks just in case!

We crossed this border from Ecuador to Peru this afternoon. The whole process took 70 minutes and was very easy. Exiting Ecuador was about 25 minutes, fill in the exit form, get the stamp, drive/walk to the tent at the barrier where the guy takes your TIP. Drive across bridge, fill in entry form and get stamp to enter Peru, drive 200 metres and buy insurance thru window on little dusty side road. Drive 2 km and get TIP from Aduana. We were expecting delays and problems but it was very easy. We then asked the Aduana guys if we could camp next to their office and they said yes. This is a quiet border, very casual (Peruvian immigration guy was wearing shorts and thongs, no uniform). All good for us.

Peru to Ecuador

Corrupt migration officer on Peru side. We did not have our tourist card (somehow we entered Peru without it) and he asked for 50 usd. Said that we have no money, smiled, waited 20 minutes and he gave exit stamp for free.
Very easy and simple on Ecuador side, friendly officers. Also possible to stay overnight on Ecuador side. Safe, but no infrastructure.

Report Check-In

Ecuador checkout and Peru checkin + Aduana took more than 3 hours. Staff on Peruvian side very unfriendly.

Report Check-In

We traveled from Peru to Ecuador. Getting the Peru exit stamp from El Alamor Immigration took 2.5 hours (!) and a lot of begging because one of us hadn't been entered properly in the system when entering Peru. Ecuador went smoothly, immigration took 15 min. customs 20 min. Note that no SOAT (insurance) for Peru can be bought at this border if want to enter Peru here.
