Moved to a different site, #19, still in Pegasus N campground. Come late afternoon in in total shade. Which is good except having to move the solar around. This is a back in spot. No problem getting in. The fire ring is in the center of a rock grouping. There's a set of rock steps out the back to a path. You can watch the sun set from this spot.

Beautiful place! made reservations on line, which added an extra $4 to book a $10 site. Well worth it tho. Wanted to stay 3 nights, so had to book a different site for 2 more. I'm up in Pegasus campground, among the humongous rocks. #15 is a large drive thru spot. Each spot comes with a picnic table, fire ring n trash barrel. Someone even left their wood for me. Much too windy today, so I'm leaving it for the next camper. Clean vault toilets scattered around. I found potable water by bthrm #3. Filled a couple jugs. Showers are at the visitor center, with flush toilets. Women's had 2, 1 was a large handicapped. Good hot water, but poor pressure. They're open 24hrs (showers). They're a few electrical sites, plus fcfs, but I'd reserved anyway.

if you don't have a reservation, you can stay 1.6 miles before the entrance for free at the small parking lot from a trail.

or you can ask at the visitor centre and they let you stay in front of the centre in the parking lot. don't be shy to ask.

Stayed in site E6 for 2 days. ELECTRIC AND WATER hookups. ( 2 nights $28.00) Picnic table, grill. moderately warm showers with slight water pressure.. Easy access to all of the trails. Really cool place. Did not make reservations online but there happened to be 2 electric sites open and 4 first come first serve. There are places with no electric for 10.00 up in the rocks and if every spot is full they can put you in overflow camping for 8.00. Really cool rocks to explore .. like an amazing maze ! very clean facility and a wonderful welcome center. Peaceful nice place.

This is probably the craziest (and our favorite) state park we've been to thus far. Just being able to camp amongst huge boulders surrounding your rig - it's indescribable! I immediately started climbing up the boulders in our campsite and it's like a jungle gym - kids would LOVE this (and me!)

I hadn't really been picky on our site, but this one was pretty awesome. It did take us a little bit to get reasonably level, but we made it work. We were on a bit of a hill, so the view was more than worth the extra time!

There are several other campsites that had perhaps a little easier time leveling but still had awesome views. My only recommendation is that you go dry camping (without the electric hookup).

The electric sites do not have the same feel as the ones in the rock formations

This is one of the coolest campsites we’ve stayed in for quite awhile! Wonderful rock formations with campsites in amongst the rocks, or around the edge with spectacular views over the Chihuahuan desert. The walking trails are well worth doing and the petroglyph hunting is great fun! Well recommended!

I thought I had booked at the other state park rockhound, drove out there first. I’m so glad I messed up, because rockhound was chuck full of huge RVs and OHVs. This park is really wonderful. For 10$ you get walking trails, bathrooms, water, showers(planning to check out tomorrow), and no RVs with generators on. If you are car camping do not pick site 37. I think I picked the only site not back in the rocks on a flat surface. But still very quiet. Fire rings and picnic tables. Pay online then just go to your site. No one was at the entrance, but my name was tagged on my reserved site.

What a wonderful place to spend a few days! It’s not necessary to reserve in June. The park was nearly empty so we had our choice of spots. It’s an extra $4 to reserve online.
The place is immaculate, let’s help to keep it that way. No glass bottles of glasses are allowed outside your vehicle so be sure to bring along plastic or stainless cups for beverages.
The 3 mile” Hydra” hike and bike path around the perimeter of the rocks is great to do on a bike early morning before it gets too hot. There’s a book exchange in the visitors Center

Spent one night here. Nice park, some nice campsites. Awful picnic tables at the sites though. Black which gets insanely hot in the sun. Nice clean pit toilets. Water.

Tons of place to explore within the rocks. Great spot for sunrise and sunset.

Only thing that was dumb was the reservation system. You only get service at the entrance to the park so if you don’t know which site you want you need to drive through the park, pick a site, then drive all the way back out to the park entrance to get service to reserve and pay. Also, they charge you a $4 reservation fee… even when you are there now.. I’m not reserving it.. I’m paying for it. Why the $4 fee?? There should be a way around this.

This place is so cool, worth a one night visit for sure. The non-electric sites are mostly tucked right in with the rocks. Site numbers a little hard to figure out on some sites. Showers and flush toilets up at visitor center which can be a bit far from some campsites. Fair Verizon and AT&T LTE. Water hydrants by bathrooms.

I got a first come site (#40) on a Saturday. No one ever took #41. You can self issue after hours. SHOWERS at visitor center. Found them by accident. Good hike to Table Mountain from camp site. Verizon has 2 bars. Quiet campground. I felt alone at #40. Great views too. Windy in afternoon but calm morning and night. $10 includes day pass fee.

Such an awesome and beautiful spot. We went to city of rocks without a reservation, but I highly recommend reserving a spot online before coming to make sure you do get a camp site. All the spots were already reserved so the staff informed us we could stay in overflow parking. Was $8 per night for overflow. You’re able to see sunrise and sunset, hike trails, and explore the rocks

Stunningly beautiful. This park will become a habit. The landscape is gorgeous, and the sites are protected and well spaced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We boondocked, but there are a number of sites with water and electric. Reservations are easy on the NM parks site.

Perfect and beautiful place. Very intimate, quiet, out of the ordinary, very cheap!! With potable water, free shower, restroom. Wow, we would have stayed a week if we could. Great hiking spot and again sooo beautiful with all the rocks. Cool for everyone : adults, kids, elderly, pets ☀️

Arrived after dark but checked with the campground host who advised sites 40-46 are first come- first serve. All other sites are reservation only through Reserve America however you can't make a same day reservation through them, so we had to go first come- first serve. The sites 40-46 are all dry camping but there are picnic tables, BBQ and fire pits at each site. These sites are nestled among huge spectacular boulders. Each site is private and the night sky is amazing without any light pollution. These sites are $10 per night that you deposit at the pay station near the visitor center. There are several vault bathrooms spread out amongst the campsites but there is also flush toilets and free showers at the front of the park near the visitor center. Lots of nice walking/hiking trails to explore too. Definitely will return soon.

Our second stop in the area. Great spot for seeing the strange rock formations and some shortish hikes. Free hot showers at the visitors center. $14 for power and water camping, $10 for dry. Dry camp is more rugged and closer to the rocks but beware of neighbors with full time generators. No ATT service until you climb the rocks. New Mexico resident requirement is no longer in effect.

Beautiful park! We’re traveling East on i10 and a friend recommended it. Several FCFS site, including some full hook up sites. We got there early afternoon, although check in isn’t until 4pm they let us. We ended up picking a reservation site and booking it online while we were there.

The visitors center has flush toilets and free showers! You cannot adjust the temperature, but they were plenty warm.

Highly recommend stopping here

Tried going into the State Park for a hike & a shower, but the gates are closed off. We tried calling the number on the sign but it is currently closed off to visitors due to covid.

Very nice place to dry camp for a few days! The rocks and trails through them are amazing! Recommend for a nice quiet place.

Such a cool experience, and a bargain at $10 a night with free showers and water! Recommend the hike that starts at the visitors center and takes you to up the Mesa nearby for an aerial view. Also do not recommend arriving at night as it is confusing and hard to find a spot.

Very nice and magical place to visit with lovely campspots (drycamping) in between the Rocks. Good to spend your Last/First Night in US After/before crossing the border!

$5 day use fee per vehicle. Good deal if you are needing a shower but the hot water heater is currently broken. Bouldering and trails for biking and hiking. Planetary boards posted around provide a mini educational hike through the park.

Amazing place! The rocks lured me in and I had fun all four days I was here, exploring. I think the best sites are the “first come” sites in the central part of the park. No water or electricity at these sites, though there are vault toilets in several places. The stars will blow you away! If you’re here during a Star Party event, you’re in for treat. They have a deluxe telescope at the group site, and maybe it’s even an observatory. I’d have stayed longer, but my feet got itchy. 😜

Established campground that was busy in even January. Beautiful sites in the rocks and you are able to climb and get lost in them. Running bathrooms and showers at the service building in front otherwise pit toilets around the site. $10 first come first served.

We stayed here 4 nights. $10 no hook up $14 with electric and water. Dry sites are lovely .. secluded and scenic. Very worthwhile driving off of hwy 10. Also camping at Faywood hot springs. Hot showers and water. Some nice walks.

Several spots in a neat environment, suitable for any kind of vehicle and preference. Pit toilets and water spigot and... hot showers at the visitor center!

A beautiful, tranquil location among a big group of boulders. Small hiking trails and dispersed camping among the boulders, each site has firepit, tables. Big rigs will fit in the parking lot, each site for big rigs with table and shelter. Toilets available and visitor center. $10 per site
