no sign for this rec site, no picnic tables. there is 1 outhouse if you turn right after entering. lots of garbage :( this place seems so neglected compared to other rec sites.

Report Check-In

I’m with Peterm on this one! We couldn’t find the toilet nor any BC rec site signs. However, it’s a pretty decent camp spot, the lake was crystal clear and lovely for a swim (or fishing as there were others there doing this). There were about 5 different campers there last night. There’s a dozen or more fire rings about the place, don’t seem to really correlate with a ‘campsite’. No picnic benches. Open area was good for starlink, there is also a treed area with a couple of spots. Had 1 bar of telus reception sometimes. Access road all uphill, was very corrugated but no pot holes. Fine in our 2WD. Good spot!

Report Check-In

Wow, what an Epic campsite - just far enough off the highway and other people to be low noise, low interaction. Plenty of room for our rig (43' truck/trailer). Excellent location for Starlink!

Report Check-In

Beautiful view of the lake but I found it hard to correlate what’s here with the descriptions. I can’t find any toilet and there is nothing indicating this is a BC Rec site. No signs, nothing. No signs on 97 either which is usually the case for Rec sites. Was it shut down recently? We did see all the nails but they’re close to the pile of ashes and shouldn’t present a problem. Not much trash and no mosquitoes.

Report Check-In

There are several campsites here, at least 5.
Nice views of the lakes and some good flat spots to park.

Unfortunately there is a lot of garbage. People are burning pallets so there are a lot of nails.

Report Check-In

Very nice simple place, no toilet. Sufficient for a maximum of 2 vehicles. A place with a view of the lake. But beware. A lot of boards with nails were burned here. The nails are now widely scattered.

Report Check-In

It’s a really nice and quiet place. The main sites are up the little hill. From there you have to go down a hill to get to the lake. If you have a big trailer/RV it would be better to stay at the lower part but as others already wrote you can see that there were a few partys going on. There were nearly no mosquitoes around and one pit toilet is here.

Report Check-In

beautiful and extremely quiet place. 3 kilometers from the highway washboardy, and the last 300 meters fairly bumpy. No real problem with our 28 foot motorhome, what to be fair we took the first site before the official campground.

Report Check-In

Amazing site, really not hard to get there !
Flat, beautiful and clean … please keep it that way !!

Report Check-In

High clearance vehicle only or short base to get access to the nice spot. Everything else is in the right of way of a pipe line with rubbish from kid’s party’s.

Report Check-In

Not like other rec sites. We wanted to stay multiple nights but stayed for 1.
The road is a bit windy and steep in places, also quiet bumpy for a 21' camper. There is a pittoilet! Only 1 other camper and we had a quiet night. You have to walk down the hill to the lake, it is very nice for a swim or kayak.
Lots of people came for a swim and then left again.

Report Check-In

Very steep windy road going up, would not recommend for a big rig (we have a 40ft fifth wheel and passed on this one)

Report Check-In

beautiful wild camping spot! It's much nicer if you go up the little hill. The lower section has a lot of evidence of partying as others have noticed. However it was quiet when we stayed here last night even though there were quite a few people. swam in the clear blue lake. a little chilly but refreshing on a hot day! would definitely stay here again!

Report Check-In

beautiful and quiet Place to stay. very recomendado, have many spots, all cars is possible.

Report Check-In

This is quite the spot. Still open in 2022. Came here, caught a fish, spent the night, and then watched a Bald Eagle catch some fish while I made breakfast before heading on my way.

Report Check-In

there are some places for big rigs, not directly on the lake but still good places, very quite, not Level, dark, better than pullouts, only 3 km good gravel road from highway

Report Check-In

Parked overnight at the Trail Head about 300m away. Level parking. Very quiet. Beautiful views driving up steep in spots windy road, only 3 km off Hwy 97N

Report Check-In

it was quiet but not like other rec sites that we've seen. it's a hill down to the lake. no out houses or tables that we could see.

Report Check-In

Quiet but not special. Lake is down hill. no out house or tables.

Report Check-In

FOUND TOYOTA CAR KEYS. Slept there Friday September 18th and found Toyota car key on the ground with broken Thule key on same ring. Brought the key to Toyota dealership in Williams Lake, as this dealer was identified on key ring. Hope the owner gets them back! BTW, spot was very nice. I have a 24 ft motor home. It was a bit tight getting there on the final part but ok. Gravel road for 3 km.

Report Check-In

Lovely place! Relaxing place by the lake, we enjoyed it so much we stayed for 3 nights.

The pit toilet is not the nicest and byo TP.

Also, definitely evidence of teens partying in the area, lots of trash (beer bongs, red cups, cans etc) which is sad as the place is so lovely. But no one showed up late for any parties when we were there.
Cows are also a lovely and funny touch if you don’t mind the mooing!

Report Check-In

Really nice spot with pit toilets and fire rings. The lake is beautiful and the water so clear, it is the perfect place to chill!

Report Check-In

Beautiful view of the lake and lovely animal sounds at night. We didn’t had any problems with other campers, but unfortunately there was a lot of garbage laying around :( we cleaned our spot after arriving, it makes me really angry, just take your garbage with you when you leave, it isn’t that hard..

Report Check-In

Beautifull place! Went there in April 2 nights and it was amazing! Road is good, pit toilet is hidden down a hill in the wood on the side of Blue Lake.
Worth it!

Report Check-In

a longish ride up a gravel road, look out for the cows ! There are two livestock barriers to cross, and yes there’s livestock. I pulled in late, there are at least 7 campers, but I still got a spot. Very nice quiet !

Report Check-In

As described. Good indication to find the place. OK with 2WD (dodge grand caravan) if you go slow. 4 other campers here. Very quiet and nice. Almost no mosquitoes.

Report Check-In

Good directions as noted above. We took the left hand spot at the top of the rise with a fire pit and view of smaller brackish lake, as there were 3 other campers straight ahead. The prime spot is at the top of the rise to the right up a narrow gravel road- this one is shaded with prime view of Blue Lake. I found a pit toilet! Just above the bottom of the first hill coming in, there is a path to the lake to the left (if you are coming from the campsite). There is a pit toilet through there. The official Blue Lake Campground down the road says it is closed permanently and is for sale.

Report Check-In

Access easy, even after rain. Got a nice leveled place right hand side on top of the lake. Only 1 car with tent there. A few other cars down in the dirt. Nice lake view. Lots of mosquitos. Telus 1bar.

Report Check-In

Very good directions as first entered... nice site, looks like it could be a party spot but still relatively clean. We stayed on Canada Day night and had one other truck pull in. They were quiet and just out of sight.
Nice blue water lake. Pit toilet with rules posted (see pic).
Truck with slide in would have no problems. 2wd could make it too in It’s current condition

Report Check-In

Well described. nice view. fire pit. some spots leveled. very quiet

Report Check-In

Great little campsite. Drove our bus there with no issue. Beautiful surroundings.

Report Check-In

As described, but we have very mixed feelings about the location. We showed up at about 2 in the afternoon and found a nice spot over looking the lake. A few local families had kayaks and canoes. Seemed cozy. We had a good afternoon reading and relaxing.

Around 6 pm, a few other travelers showed up (a pickup and a sprinter van) and everything seemed good. However, around 9 pm three vehicles of local teens to 20-somethings showed up. They made a big fire, started drinking, and playing loud music. It escalated to them getting very intoxicated, yelling, crashing one of their vehicles into another one, and then trying to open the door of our truck. We turned on our exterior lights and they seemed to settle down a little bit. The only thing that quieted down the ruckus was when it started raining at 3 am, but we were woken at 6:45 am by one of them knocking our camper door. The woman seemed distressed, so we asked if she needed help. She was still intoxicated, and she wandered off. At that point we’d had enough. We packed up quickly and zoomed out. Terrible night sleep. Didn’t feel safe. It might have just been a one-time occurrence, because the place was otherwise fairly nice.

Watch out for nails around the fire pits so you don’t get them in your tires. A million mosquitos at sundown.

Report Check-In

Nice lake with lots of fish and good places to camp!

Report Check-In

Follow the directions of previous posters. Go past the blue lake west campground (closed for winter). Go over the cattle guard, and then turn right at the big pressure gas pipeline.
Beautiful view, quiet. Recommend higher clearance vehicle, but not absolutely necessary.

Report Check-In

nice area with a view on the lake. One clean pit toilet, little bit hidden. Few cows are free on the place, but they are good neighboors :) Quiet.

Report Check-In

Clear water for a swim! Beautiful landscape. Perfect spot. Mosquitoes when the sun goes down, that’s normal. And a lot of wasps. Unfortunately some bottles and trash around so we cleaned them.

Report Check-In

Pretty good spot! Nice view and you can go for a swim in the lake.
At the beginning you go straight (don’t take the yellow gate). When you see a sign of pipeline you go right.
We had just one other camper.
Got 1 small bar of Telus reception.

Report Check-In

Nice spot! The road is in very good condition.

Report Check-In

As described, just two other campers there, at this time of the year lots of bugs...but it seems this is a BAD bug year

Report Check-In

Great site, open with fore ring. Only people there on a weekday. Easy gravel road up to it.

Report Check-In

nice spot up above the lake with no one else around. 1-2 bars of cell service and we have the lake to ourselves. road in is dashboards, but easy drive.

Report Check-In

two of us stopped here and stayed in the parking lot. no signs to say we couldn't and no one bugged us. a few cars as we were just off raid, but pretty quiet as we were not on highway. pit toilets, but no TP.

Report Check-In

It is a very quiet and nice place. You have a beautiful view over the lake! The lake invites you to go swimming.
