Playa Bonita Beach House | Established Campground

450 pesos/night, full hookups (2 adults + 2 kids). Lots of back-in options for our 24-foot class C. We had the place to ourselves the first night, with a few other RVs on the following 2 nights. Check the electricity before settling in, as some didn't function well. Dinner (coconut shrimp) and breakfast (chilaquiles) were yummy! The English menu has more options than the Spanish menu. Great walks both directions. Our sons enjoyed the pool, even if was a bit chilly on a cloudy, windy afternoon. Very nice staff offered me fruit and coffee while I took some early-morning video calls from the restaurant. See the prior post about directions, as we ended up on a dirt road and had to back track one time to get on a paved road back to the highway.

Nice little campground right on the beach. Owner speaks great English and very friendly. 450 pesos per night for power, water and sewer. Note for those navigating here with Google Maps from the south. Do not follow the route it suggests - miles of rough dirt roads. instead drive north to Gusave then follow directions through town and down to La Gloria. Very nice paved road down to beach. It is about 45 minutes off the highway.

We stayed here twice. Once in January 2024 as we drove south then 2 nights in March 2024. This time there are lots of employees working & getting ready for Semana Santa. Stuffed shrimp at restaurant is really good! Dry camping is 300 pesos per night. Water, & electric available in some spots. Sorta long walk to banos where cold showers are located. We found banos in restaurant which is closer to camping area. 3 toilets in ladies room, only 1 with a seat. WiFi near restaurant. Hotel rooms on site. Beware of bitting bugs at sunset. Nice ocean breeze,clean pool & palm trees. Good vibes. Tavo is the owner.

Beautiful resort on the beach with water, sewer, electric (15 amp),pool, restaurant. Easy biking distance to convenience stores and seafood and vegetable sellers.
Loved this place. We will be back.

Wonderful place for camping no matter how you travel, small or large. The owner is super friendly and the price is very good. This looks like a resort.
It is a hidden paradise... There is even a swimming pool...

Great location right on the playa. Tavo, the owner & staff are super cool & nice. This is a great location to stay a few days or weeks! We only had 1 night but it was great. It’s 40-45 minutes off 15D toll road but very easy to find. Excellent shrimp dinners. Lots of flat grass and/or dirt areas to park overlanding vehicles plus rooms to rent. I would luv to have a week to stay & play here when the weather is warmer.

Clean, nice, but definitely the price too high. Staying overnight with a tent, without hook-up, you pay 300 pesos per person per night. Internet works, but terribly slow. Too bad we arrived in the evening and had no choice but to stay. At least the beautiful sunset "compensated" us a little for this stay.

Wow, what a great place to camp!! We were there with our 36’ Motorhome, on a grassy spot next to the restaurant. Stayed 2 nights. We had 2 great meals at the restaurant, breakfast and dinner. My dinner was over the top, fillet fish with garlic. I was taken back by the presentation and taste!! I would return to have it again!! The beach is right there. Such a friendly, kind bunch ; the staff and owner!!

This place is great. Everyone working there is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Diana is a sweetheart and even offered to loan me her bike as she thought I was bored. 😀There is a restaurant on site as well as two swimming pools. Very basic bathrooms. There are a few restaurants within walking distances right on the beach. A convenience store but very basic. There doesn’t seem to be any food store here. The main attraction for me was the beach and seashells. There are literally 10’s of thousands of shells for you to peruse. All in all I highly recommend this spot.

I came for 3 days and stayed for a week, if only I could stay longer…… Tavo and the staff are all so friendly, each night someone would check on me to see if I was ok which was very sweet as I am solo person. Super dog friendly, your 4 legged friends can hang with you everywhere. The pool is great to cool off, delicious food at the restaurant but the friendship and service I received from this family run business is priceless. Sure the bathrooms could be improved and the beach cleaned up a little more but the feeling of being welcomed and looked after like family is priceless…….. I will certainly visit playa Bonita beach house again in my travels….. it’s an easy 30min drive from the main Hwy, wide streets any vehicle size vehicle can get here. As you come off the Hwy you have all the convenience of the big supermarket stores, home depot ect incase you need anything….

nice place to spend the night camping. has swimingo pool, bathroom and shower are ok, could be better, we camped in a lawn by the pool. we had breakfast and the machaca with eggs was ver good. Tavo the owner and the personal are very friendly.

An out of the way RV park on the beach. For those that this is their destination, it's a nice little RV park. Power was stable, 15amp service used. For those that are passing through, it's out of the way.

Lots of bugs due to the season.

Beach was fantastic to go swimming at.

Also known as Mr Moro. As friend & I were caravaning off season we had this place to ourselves. And I had the best spot, right on beach with palapa & hammock. Good food & English speaking "camp host". Not really, but Anna checked us in. My friend needed a room while I was in my Airstream. Nice restaurant and pool on site.

On Google maps Playa Bonita Beach house is also shown as Hotel Mr Moro but they are one and the same. A large campground at the edge of town with all services. WiFi didn’t work for us but hot water sewer dumps etc are all available. The campground is at the north end of the huge four lane highway through town and is easily accessed by any vehicle. Ignore Google maps circuitous route through town on dirt streets…Quiet at night gorgeous beach and a handful of abandoned dogs from the neighboring wilderness very shy and grateful for handouts are the features. A comfortable place to stop.

FYI they're asking $450p now even though we were dry camping. We have an RV and don't plug anything in but they only consider dry camping to be tents. Also wow - the topes are BRUTAL getting here.

This is a terrific spot to stay for a night or a week. WiFi is decent. Clean restrooms. Fantastic food in the restaurant. I’m glad I made the detour and tried this spot!

There is a Canadian Host now that take the money and show you the place. The bathrooms at the end of the block were not in good shape. There was no door for the showers. I didn’t get any hot water even if I kept the water running. There is a restaurant and it was good. The swimming pool was clean. The beach is empty and beautiful. I looked at the surroundings and it was like a ghost town: we didn’t like the vibe. 300 pesos dry camping is excessive. We left next morning.

Entre San Carlos et Mazatlan, un peu après Los Mochis, un excellent endroit où s’arrêter. Panorama, hospitalité, plage, nourriture, marguaritas, rien à redire. Los baños ? Amélioration potentielle… Deux jours de repos bien appréciés pour 450 pesos par soir avec eau, électricité, vidanges, piscine, wifi, fond sonore océanique… magnifico !

I think the person who wrote the first review might actually be associated with the property the way they talked it up.
We stayed here back in 2009 so we’re eager to see it again.
Unfortunately it has not been kept up and it’s in such a bad state of repair I can’t imagine how it can be brought back to life without a major influx of cash.
The whole town feels quite abandoned.
Tavo is trying hard though, I will give him that.

$300 pesos for dry camping is just way too much for this place. They tried to get the hot water running for showers but no luck. $150 pesos is what they should be charging based on what they have to offer at the moment.
We stayed two nights and had a nice walk on the beach collecting shells ( and three bags of garbage) sunsets were lovely. Bring bug spray for the early morning and sunset or you’ll get eaten alive.

We stayed on this nice place for 2 and a half week in october. It was very nice and very quite during this time because we were alone. 3 times came another RV for two nights. We could stay on the first place next to the beach on a green gras ground with full hook up. All day and night we had wonderful sound from the sea. Every evening you will have a very very wonderfull sunset over the sea. So nice colors like painted by an artist. The beach is 2,1km long to the left, so very nice for a beach walk. The RV park provides a shower and toilette room which had been clean. Complains to the owner Gustavo will we managed imidiately. He is a very nice person and always available for questions. He speak perfect english. The place offer a pool area and a reataurant area. Every building shows his age, the hotel, too. For us no problem because we stayed here with our RV and did not use the hotel rooms. Here are always employees arround, cleaning up, taking care for the garden.... The place has a lot of palm trees and we could get some fresh coco nut. On sundays some mexican families spending there time here during the day. A view dogs are arround but they are very shy. We have a free running cat and it never was a problem. The people who work here are very friendly and helpfull. From time to time they ask if bathrooms are clean and everything is ok. We felt very good and safe here during our stay. The village has a very small grocery but with only basics. If you stay longer you should buy all your things before in the last bigger city, Guasave which is about 40km far. The RV park can handle big rigs, long trailers. It is space enough and each place with water, drain and electricity. We can recommend this nice place.

Empty and an absolute Mosquito extravaganza! At $300 pesos per night it felt overpriced. Might be better in peak season but in October it’s desolate. Take DEET!

endroit très agréable et bien équipé (plage, piscine, restaurant, wifi rapide), patron très accueillant mais pour autant je déconseille l'endroit si vous devez dormir en tente car musique à fond jusque très tard dans la nuit et impossible de dormir. Énormément de moustiques

Great spot, just as others have described. the bathrooms were a little run down, but the owner is working on renovating everything. You basically get your own private beach. Wifi reaches campsites closest to the restaurant, good cell service. the family was so nice, I loved it here.

We are camping here 3 nights. They are letting us use cabin 1 for the bathroom and shower. Hot water. There is water and electric hookups. Right on the beach. Very nice. We ate at the restaurant yesterday. Not bad food but a little pricy. We walked down the beach this morning and then went swimming in the pool. No complaints here.

One of our favorite beaches. We have two boys, 10 and 12 yrs. They enjoyed the waves daily. The pool was great. We are at the restaurant once and never more. It was expensive and the food was not very good. There is a small store in town so stock up on food before you come. The internet is sketchy, you can get it if you have an extender. It comes and goes. At the restaurant it is about 30 mbs. There are days where there is no internet. We stayed for 12 days…. There are days with no cell service as well. It helps to have a cell booster which we had-if you need it to work. Tavo, the owner is very friendly and always willing to lend a hand. The electrical offers 15 amp. Some are reversed. Ours was and we fixed it plus three other sites. Other sites are also affected. So if you notice you are getting a little shock it is because the wires are reversed and they haven’t bothered to fix those sites…. But overall it is a great place. We obviously loved it! The beach, the views!

Absolutely incredible place! The beaches, the whales, the baby turtles, the clams, the waves. The owner Tavo is FABULOUS! This place is a gem! Full hookups, wifi, great spots with gorgeous views. Bathrooms and showers available and cleaned regularly. Great rates, worth every centavo!

We spent a lot of time here 15+ years ago. I visited hre 5 years ago and the place was in serious decay. Yesterday we drove out to the beach and had a great visit with Gustavo "Tavo". He's doing a fantastic job of bringing El Cangrejo Moro back to life. The place is cleaned up. We had a great meal in the restaurant. He has about 10 sites east of the restaurant now. Our favorite spot west of the restaurant is now grassed in. Absolutely worth a visit.

there is not a sign that says Mr. moro or even campground so we drove past twice. the GPS coordinates are accurate, otherwise we wouldn't have found it. if you hit the dirt at the end of the beautiful cobblestone road, you just missed it. tavo greeted us and spoke great English. there wasn't anyone else in the camping area so we got to stay in one of the nicer grass spots as a few were still sandy, but had sprinklers on them. power and water at the sites worked fine. there were some bathrooms on one side of the restaurant, but tavo gave us keys to one of the rooms for rent so we can use the toilet and shower. I took a barely luke warm shower, but mentioned that to him and he had it working fine for the next shower. the dogs were definitely a nuisance. they were friendly but barked a lot. the mosquitos were really bad for like 10 minutes before, and 10 minutes after sunset but were non existent after that. I feel bad to have so much negative to say about this place as tavo is actively spending all day trying to bring it back to it's former glory. on the positive side, the pool was pristine and beautiful, there wasn't any trash, the gates are locked at night, and the beach is jam packed full of beautiful shells and lots of delicious clams to dig up. I would come back. 200 a night

don't fallow exactly Google maps to get here. at one point immediately after leaving the closest town it wanted to make a left down some dirt road along a canal for like 10km , which we did, only to find out we were parallel to a great asphalt road the whole time! don't turn onto the dirt roads.

You have to use your nous to find this place, there is no sign.

On the plus side, this place is right on the beach, is safe, the hosts are friendly, and there is a nice pool. Prices are unknown, but for tent camping we left 200Ps which seemed fair.

On the minus side these things need to be fixed:
1. There are 7+ mangy dogs running around that are a pain. They will scavenge your food if you're not careful. These need to go!!!
2. There is a major mosquito problem in the evenings which make it too difficult to sit outside after 5pm. This needs to be fixed!
3. There is no Wi-Fi, although cell tower reception is good.
4. The nearest place for reasonable groceries is 40km away. A small camp store or ordering service would go a long way for securing long term visitors.
5. The camping area could use a good tidy up. The electrical outlets are ragged. There is too much loose sand - grass it or concrete it! And each site needs a picnic table.

Too expensive, manager asked for 500 Pesos but we made a deal for 400 Pesos. Water in Pool is not clean.

Just pulled in and many improvements have been made from when we were here 2 years ago. It is still parking on the grass with or without hookups. But the family is very friendly and (I think) said there is food drinks and hot showers available.

This place is difficult to get to driving north although interesting agricultural area to drive through. Las Glorias is like a ghost town and Mr Moro’s is a lovely location but could do with a lot of TLC before it warrants the current rates

excellent stay. power, water and sewer most sites. should use a power protector for low voltage. because we were a caravan of 10 rvs, the hosts opened the restaurant. 1km down the beach is another good restaurant, Palomas.

Nice beach place, definitely open. They are working hard to get it up to speed, the camping area is easy access, big rigs fit. We led a caravan of 10 RVs, 3 class A's had no problem getting in. The restaurant is open with some coordination with Tavo, his wife is the cook. Full hookups are available.

We took a chance and came to this wonderful RV Park with a caravan of 10 RVs. This is a beautiful location and although the RV park needs some TLC, Tavo the owner worked very hard to make our stay here comfortable and safe. upon request, he and his wife will cook a gourmet seafood meal for you right in the palapa next to the RV parking. You can walk the beach for miles. Full service is available for your RV or of course you can dry camp. please consider stopping here to support this wonderful and industrious young man.

Open and lovely. We were the only people here midweek. Victor was very friendly and helpful. A bit run down but the grounds are nice. Pools and facilities a little run down, but it was just right for camping! Highly recommend.

Tried to stay here, but nobody there despite washed clothes hanging outside. Looked still not in frequent use. So we went to beach, returned 4 hours later, still nobody there, moved on.

Very nice owner, good spot before/after the ferry. We paid 200mxp but the pool was empty. He gave us clean towels and let us take a shower in one of the private rooms. Sunday was pretty busy on the beach with ATV’s and 4wds going up and down but by the next morning it was empty.

It is definitely open and Tevo, the owner, says that it will stay open!
We paid $250. Clean electrical power and showers and toilet in one of the hotel rooms. This us our 5th year here and they are constantly making improvements, which the hurricanes tend to destroy but they persist!

Nice place for $250 pesos a night with full hookups. Weekends can be loud with locals driving on the beach. Restaurant is open. Bugs can be bad at night. Nice beach to walk on.

Mr Moro’s is closed and the phone number has been disconnected. We camped on the beach at the end of the road and it was fine, though buggy and a bit trashy. People from the village were very friendly and told us it was safe for us to spend the night.

Stayed for 2 nights, 260 peso per night. Nice enough place, clean with well maintained gardens. Lovely staff and really good food at the restaurant. Looking a wee bit tired and in need of a little refresh

Re- opened!
There is a few guys here cleaning things and doing repairs. Nice owner who speaks english. Beach is big and flat. Not much shade but a dozen or so grassy spots to camp with water and power. People like to race down the beach in their cars.

We stayed here for a week, we thought it was closed but saw two campers parked there so drove in, Tavo the owner is the son of mr Moro and is making an effort to reopen the place, he is very nice , speaks good English. He has run new water lines and power to the rv sites and is working on getting the restaurant open as his wife is a chef.
There are washrooms open, the beach is beautiful and the place is very safe. We paid 200peso a night. He would like to have the “closed” status removed. There are very few places on the beach to stay along this stretch of the drive down south so this one is a welcome stop.

Poorly maintained.. cold showers in rooms, not much works here. Nice restaurant however. Must have been nice at one time but is like ghost town.

The cost is 250 pesos. They also gave us a room for showers & toilet. The power had open ground so he fixed it for us. The showers by the pool are no longer operational.

ok place if you have self contained rv. full hookups near the beach. water pressure is low. 200 pesos per night. they. let us use a room for showers and restroom. laundry broke a pipe so used the showers by the pool.
