A pullout along Coal Creek Road in national forest.
Existing fire ring.
Good for tent or very small rig.
Close by roaring coal creek.
With the white noise from the creek I slept soundly.
Cell phone access unknown.
Very fast access as it off the paved road from Redstone.
Fine morning shade.
No bugs.
There were some hikers who arrived in the morning as this is a trail head.
A great site.

nice flat camping area. it's off the road. very quiet except for the rushing creek. I came here right after a storm so everything was damp. the climb to the flat from the road is short, maybe 200 feet. I have an X5 with AWD but I think even a sedan can make it up to the flat. if you're worried, just park before and walk up a bit with your stuff.
as others have mentioned, there are trees too provide shade and there is a fire ring. the clearing is just dirt. like mining tailings. so no brush. very nice.
Report Check-InThis site is a bit more secluded, not right on the road. Fire ring near the creek, less exposed to traffic from the road. Will need high clearance 4WD due to off-camber, steep entry to the site. No amenities, no cell signal.
Report Check-InWe camped here in April of 2021 with friends & were just taking the risk that this was the same place! So happy to have found it again! No cell service. Wild camping. The road is much better than before so 4WD not required. Last time we woke up with some sort of big cat prints all around our rigs, so be safe! Leave it better than you found it!
