Peru
New guesthouse (currently still in process of development) homestay, absolutely lovely place with adorable people with a view on the ecological reserve of the Altiplano : few rooms (3), shared kitchen, lovely living room with fireplace, central courtyard, a few animals (calm dogs, cats, ducks and even cuyes !).
As it is still developing, the prices might change but we paid 50 soles (update: now 100 for 2 people in a room or 85 for 1) for a matrimonial room (they gave us a hot-water bottle for the night as it was freezing outside), shared bathroom with very hot shower, breakfast included. Everything was perfectly clean. Good wifi. We could do our laundry.
The experience and the atmosphere are totally worthwhile.

They’re open again :) redid the shared living area. Guests are most welcome.
Report Check-InThe renovations are done, they're open now !
They have a secret ingredient: the love ! And they put it in everything, in the breakfast, in the so cute animals they have, in the materials they used to renovate this place, etc.
A must do in this area!
Lovely old chapel turned into a workspace/lodgings. Michaela and her partner Jaime are gradually going through the restoration of this traditional building, some rooms are ready and being rented directly and through Airbnb. The bed is comfortable, good wifi, the hot shower is fairly quick and good water pressure. The many animals in the compound added a lovely touch for me. Breakfast was included and was easily the best I’ve had so far the 5 weeks I’ve been in South America. Secure space to park my motorcycle and I could get my laundry done too.
Report Check-InHad a wonderful stay with Michaela and Jaime. The bed was so comfortable. The shower was super hot and good pressure. Lovely people and had the most amazing breakfast. Would highly recommend a stay here. They are still renovating but still allowed us to stay in the queen room that was finished and we are so happy we found this place.
Report Check-InIncredible place; best place in Ayaviri by far. Michaela and her partner Jamie went above and beyond for us, three dusty motorcyclists looking for a nice place to relax for the evening. From the toasty fire in the evening, to the incredible breakfast spread, to the secure garage, to her amazing array of animals ducks, dogs, cats, to the view of the altiplano, to the way they have stylishly and beautifully decorated the old chapel…… it’s wow after wow after wow. I will return when back in Peru, a truly wonderful and unique place to spend a night, I wish I could have stayed longer!
Report Check-InEvery cyclist/motorcyclist passing through this area should stop here. It is an amazing place to stay with everything you could want: an amazing bed, hot rain shower, terrace with beautiful views, shared kitchen, cozy living room and most importantly the nicest people possible.
you can roll your bike right indoors in the courtyard.
It is 100 soles per room but the most amazing breakfast is included. we can only recommend this B&B if you are looking for a nice place to take some rest.
Report Check-InIf you’re passing through and looking for a little bit of luxury after days of cycling and camping like we were, this is a perfect retreat. The most amazing morning views to have breakfast in the sun, easily the best breakfast we’ve had in our 6 months in South America! Easy bike storage in the courtyard. We could use the kitchen to cook amd the washing machine. The fire was on the Lounge at night so we could relax. Michaela and Hayme are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend, we could have stayed days but have to get to Bolivia!
It’s now 100sol for a double room but well worth it for us. There’s no sign on the door but it’s just across the railway tracks and the front looks like a chapel. We just knocked on the door but you can contact Michaela on +51920885853
