Description

This place is a big forest (14 hectares) which is protected by Institut Agricole Tropical. They do a big job to preserve different kinds of species of trees. If you meet Louis, he can explain about each plant. Also this is a sanctuary for "singe à ventre rouge". Here, you can observe them and learn more about this monkey. Fortunately you can't touch them, it's not a zoo ! Just look at them. We really enjoyed the place, the guide and time with monkeys. They let us sleep in the village. And for the first time since we have been in Bénin, nobody asked us for money or gifts! Hope It will always stay like that, also depends on behaviour of the tourists...
2000 fcfa/p for the visit with the guide.
Better to call before to be sûre that somebody can receive you.

In order to visit the monkeys the next day we stayed the night next to the sanctuary in the village. For our stay they allowed us to use the facilities of the sanctuary.

The people of the village are super friendly and Louis gave us an interesting guidance through the forest with its different plants and explained alot about the culture and as well we saw the monkeys and learned a lot about them.

Here you will see the monkeys for sure, they literally run around in the village and one family of the monkeys are fed by the sanctuary.

Unfortunately Louis speaks just french, maybe the owner can speak English as he is from switzerland.
