Description
RP13 to Zapala is closed in winter. Alternatively you can take RP46 over Laguna Verde if you want to cross east to west in winter. It is not that bad as the RP46 is very nice :-)

You can check whether the road is open at the tourist info in Villa Peheunia. In the dry the road is easy, if it rains you need to take it slow and steady. We did it easily after a night of rain in our back wheel drive Ford E150 van staying at around 50km per hour but she needed a good wash by the time we got to Zapala. The road is tarmac from Primeros Pinos.
