Description

Great if it's dry season and you need open sky for Starlink and solar. Shoreline is well receded in September and there's many spots to pull away from the trees, as well as some shady spots. There is also a tiny bit of slow cell reception on T Mobile and Verizon, but not enough for video calls.

Road in is as others mention on the nearby spots. Very slow-going weaving over and around huge potholes. This location was the first spur road to the lake driving counterclockwise. Road down to the lake was a bit narrow and rocky, but totally doable in an 8,000 lb front wheel drive, low clearance Promaster van.

Nice views, appears quite clean at the moment.

Latest Check-Ins

Campground on the shores of Clear Lake. $26 per night, large plots but uneven ground. Pit toilets and picnic tables with fire pits.

Report Check-In

Could have made it in here, but chose to hike down first, the potholes are significant for 2X and low clearance, presently. Beautiful place. Lots of level spots with water views. Like no TMobile. Just didn't want the white-knuckle, "try to make it in here" experience this time. 2016 Transit 350 extended, with extended rear carrier, it was hard to turn around back there.
