Camping outside of the village, with chairs, tables and BBQ places. It's free and not indicated. The guy of the shop brings us there. From the village coming from north, you have to take the road on the right before the football stadium and go under the bridge of the Ruta 40. Very quiet place, but was windy part of the night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Entrance is sandy but no problem.
Electricity point at pole near the small building.
Quiet in the night.
Expect to be woken up at 7.30 by motos arriving and loud conversation. About a dozen workmen. The further from the brick shed you are, the better.
Very nice place. No one around only 1 car came in and left during the night. At 7am came couple guys on mopeds and had a chat nearby at the table. They left for another table when I woke up and started packing. I was not asked for money nor approached by them.
Report Check-InAbsolutely beautiful area. We were on bikes and the road was totally fine, it’s a bit sandy but it’s a short distance. We camped here after going on a walk to the canyon and bathing in the small natural pools. What a place! Quiet night.
We gave some money to the guy taking care of the property.
Report Check-Inreally nice and calm place, we stayed 2 nights for free. for visiting the nice Canyon with pools they expect a little money 😀
the bridge you have to path unser is only about 3m high!
Very nice picnic area for having a lunch in the shade with a beautiful canyon nearby.
Report Check-Innice little free space to camp. has a worker there till 6pm. it has shade, water, tables, chairs and bbq pit. whoever said you need 4x4 must have came when it was flooded because I came in 2wd and there was a little Kia there also.
Report Check-Ingreat little free place, turn left into town and then take a drainage tunnel under rt40 and go up the hill. free and has lots of shade.
Report Check-InVery nice place, with a small creek and pools to jump in. There was no potable water, but water for washing is plenty in the pools. The last 300 m from the bridge are dirt road, but should be feasible for most cars when dry conditions. If you follow the canyon for 15 min, you’ll get to the best pools
Report Check-Inhermoso lugar, el agua cerca de las primeras mesas funciona bien. el camino está reparado se puede pasar sin problemas. yo pasé con mi kombi vw de más de 1500 kg y no cedió el camino de arena, no es necesario doble tracción
Report Check-InCould access to the campground. As soon as we passed under the bridge the road as all destroyed with huge holes (probably from the water/river current when it rains).
You can go walking but definitely not with a 2x2. Hope they will repare it.
Indeed a really pleasant and free campground in a beautiful landscape. Tunnel is about 4 m high, ok for our big 2wd motorhome. Nice walk in the canyon, should be wonderful to swim in the waterholes in summer. No worms.
Report Check-InLovely place and free. Followed directions and found easily. Everyone forgot to mention the giant horror movie moth swarms at night. Terrifying! Could be the time of year. And the moths like red wine a lot.
Report Check-Ingreat great place !! we spent 3 nights here instead of 1. free camping and potable water. amazing canyon.
Report Check-Inthis is a very nice nautural campground made with love. No facilities but one water tape, the pipe comes from the sportsfield and should be drinkable. The place is very well placed in natural sourrounding and you can make a nice 700 m walk into the little canyon. Access to the campground ONLY from the city mainroad. At the turist office drive to the big sportsfield (high floodlight masts), then drive trough the tunnel under the highway (~ 3,45 m high), and after 200m zigzag you are there. We enjoyed the place two days.
Report Check-InTranquil spot, no facilities but water (probably from the green pond).
Some locals were there, other than that its very quiet.
Nice and quite, friendly locals, couple tent campers around. Water on site.
Great stop.
Perfect little camping spot, fire pits, BBQ, table and benches. All looks very new, clean and nicely kept.
Report Check-InWasn't game to try the pools in the middle of winter but looked gorgeous. No real facilities but it's free, has ground for tents and caravans and was far enough away from the road and town. Plenty of tables and chairs about, some with back support too (oo-la-la)!
Report Check-InEven on the first days of april the creek has water and you can take a bath in the little pools. Very special place. No facilities but a faucet with water near to a tree.
If you come over the RN 40 from the south you pass the entrance from Hualfin. Keep on RN 40 till you see the football stadium on the right. After that, 100 m ahead on the right there is a little dirt road that leads you to a paved road. On this paved road drive right and at the stadium right under the bridge of the RN 40. About 300m ahead is the place.
Nice clean site, we stopped over for lunch and a dip in the pools. About 200m walk to the first pool of water and about another 200m to the last pool. We were here in the midst of summer and the water is pretty low, so don't expect too much but nice to cool off during these hot summer days.
