Something not right?

Description

Excellent campsite, VERY expensive (35 for a tent). Near excellent trails and right on the beach. Beautiful location. Down a long bumpy steep dirt road, probably not possible in an RV. First come first serve (during off season only!), nearly full on a Friday in the off season... BUT there is a small lot in between the day use and camping lots which is spill over for both, in which, you might be able to get away with only paying for day use if you arrive late. Day use is covered by a Natl. Park Pass.

Our favorite campsite out of all of the places we stayed during our 2 week road trip. $42 for a tent site that we reserved 2 months in advance, worth the price. Very beautiful, our campsite (25) was right next to the tree line for great views but also good privacy. Bathrooms and showers were clean and private. Right next to some pretty hiking trails as well. Highly recommend

Cool spot. Stayed in a 19” sprinter van. Can hear the waves and short walk to the beach. Drive down is bumpy. Super quiet in December. Was nice and peaceful.

beautiful campground with simple small spots. no trailers allowed, but otherwise epic if you can make it down the road. to stay here you MUST book ahead online. do not drive down and hope

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights on the coast in a 21’ van. Bathrooms and hot showers were very clean.

Gorgeous spot! Super quiet and loved the ease of access to fern canyon. Showed up without a reservation and was able to snag someone’s cancellation

Report Check-In

I have not been here, but the website says max length is 27’. We have a 40’ and cannot fit here so I personally don’t think it should say big rig friendly just so someone doesn’t get stuck. Correct if wrong please.

Nice campground on the beach. Highlight was Fern Canyon, made the drive in worthwhile. Recent work has greatly improved the road in, no trailers but RVs (up to the 24’) are ok. Enjoy the free wifi and hot showers while you’re here! Ntwita!

Gold bluff camp site-
Nice camp area right on the beach. The camp sites are large with food storage containers and concrete fire pit and picnic tables. Parking is a bit tricky as they don’t allow vehicles to pull into the camp sites you get to park parallel to the road on the edge of the camp site. The bluffs provide a little bit of privacy but not much. Dogs are allowed though must be on leash while in camp and are not allowed in fern canyon but they can run off leash on the beach. Bathrooms are clean and have warm running water and soap. We visited during off season so no trouble finding a site there was only one other camper here.

Report Check-In

Campsite was full. We arrived at 2 pm. It’s possible to arrive at noon ish and score a spot as reserved spots with no shows come available.
However, There is a turn off 50 yds after the gate that one can tuck there little vehicle away from being seen. We tried staying there and was not found but the mosquitoes won, so we departed at 4 am.
Even if you don’t stay overnight the walk through the fern canyon is worth it.

Awesome campsite. Worth of the $35 if your budget allows it. Showers, bathroom and wifi, basically a hotel with the advantage of sleeping under the stars and on the beach, lol. Road in was in worse shape giving recent storm that passed through but doable on 2WD if you go slow. No water crossing but some avoidable big poodles.

I'd rather pay $35 for a spot right next to the ocean than park on a concrete parking lot next to the highway. The sunset here is amazing. Firepits on every site and you can buy firewood for $8 the bundle. Wifi works also great. Road is only a bit bumpy on the last 2 miles. No 4x4 needed. We made it with our campervan Ford e250. Might be different during winter or heavy rain.

Report Check-In

Probably the coolest access road ever, driving through a redwood forest and around sharp corners that wrap around trees. The road through the trees was paved, but the beach access road was dirt and a little rough. We drove F350 with slide in camper.
The camp site is excellent.
Wifi was great and the beach incredible. We were there during king tides with huge waves crashing on the beach. Washrooms and showers were as expected. The road to the Fern Canyon was closed so the hike would have been much longer. We did not go.

Report Check-In

As described. Surprisingly nice bathrooms/showers. Expensive and difficult to drive to if you’re not up to the challenge. Water over road in some places.

Awesome Campground. A bit pricy but has showers, wifi and the pacific ocean!

Report Check-In

As described before a beautiful campground. Still 35 USD like nearly all State Park CG in California. But this is eefinitely one of the best of all that we have seen. Access road had just bern improved, but still gravel and not suitable/allowd for big rigs snd trailors.
We had very good free WiFi here from the park.
Very clean toilets snd showers. Even in October still full.

it's possible for RV's but regulation says max. 24 ft, 8 ft wide - and that is correct. there is a steep, winding and bumpy road down to this area. And bigger RV will not realy fit in one of this 26 campsides - but its a great place on the beach.
